None of the soldiers have heard of Tin or Budeim. Aside from answering Lukas question, the conversations that Quin overhears are all about other soldiers in the two armies, or women that soldiers know (or claim to know). He doesn’t hear anything related to the party’s current situation.
As Lorgar, Lukas, and Quin head outside, they initially don’t notice the wagon at all. But, after a couple minutes they notice the wagon off to the west of the inn, where the oxen are munching away contentedly on the grass in that area.
A thorough search of the hay in the wagon produces a 1 foot tall onyx statue of a horse and a small vial of a greenish liquid.
While you are searching the hay, a boy comes up to you and says “Do you want me to put the oxen in the stable for you, or we could just hobble them for you if you’re not going to be long inside?”
"Go ahead and stable them. We might be offering a trade later for some horses if possible. So let your master know so he can round up a couple. Put them under " Finn"." Quin says as he gives the boy two copper.
Turning to the rest he says "Lets see if we can sell this. Its obvious ol' Budheim and Tinn didn't tell us the whole truth. Lets get ourselves a little walkin' around money and maybe in the process we can find our employers. I don't know what that is", indicating the items from the wagon, " but someone here was expecting them or they were just placed in the wagon. Either way their intended recipient will come find us. Unless someone knows what they are?"
"Didn't tell us the whole truth? Hah!" Quiller shakes his head. "and here I fell for that stupid line about a dumb horse! I should be pilloried with a sign hung round my neck announcing to all who pass by - GULLIBLE RUBE!. Geez, I don't believe it."

The boy responds to Quin “We are a bit short on horses at the moment. A group of thieves recently stole most of our horses.”
The boy takes the copper and leads the oxen over toward the stable.
Lukas doesn’t know anything about either the statue or the vial. He has never seen anything like the green liquid before. The statue looks similar in style to other statues Lukas has seen, but, it does seem be an older style.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Quin puts a hand on Lukas' shoulder, "We don't know anything yet. Just cause your face is on a poster doesn't always make you a bad guy" he says with a wink. His own exploits flashing briefly in his mind.
"Lets go check with the local freight master. See if someone was expecting a shipment."

(When we have a chance to move the scene back to the tavern, I think that Balthazar would be very interested in a conversation with the eponymous owner of the tavern.)
"You are Mercer, then? Owner of this establishment? I've been traveling a good ways - I'm with the Association. Baronnette Halub gave me a package for you. While I would normally have business elsewhere, I think, it seems my travelling companions and I may have fallen across some shady characters - we think we recognize the faces of some of those on the posters by the door. Can you tell me anything about them? Who puts the posters up, and why? And where do the rewards come from, anyways?"
Balthazar stayed back in the tavern, starting a conversation with the inkeep while several of the others went back outside. The conversation has progressed by PM for the moment, so whenever we are all back together Balthazar can relate what he has talked about.
Lorgar examines the items pulled from the wagon. Should they appear alien to him aswell, he will suggest to pack them and show them to the rest of the group at the inn.
"We should discreetly pack these things, and show them to the rest of the group. Balthazar might know something. I have to run an errand while we are in town, and for that I will need to speak to the clergy at the local church. If we can't figure out what this stuff is, I would like to show it to them. As for the wagon, they will not come near while we can be seen to be next to it. Can we try to lay some trap, or do we just leave it and go inside with the items?"
Lorgar packs the things from the wagon in his backpack.
"Well with out the oxen to pull it nobody is going to take it. If they show up to search it, the items are with us. I think the wagon will be fine here. Lets get this stuff back to the rest and then go to the priest. But whatever we do lets stick together. Its a good possibility whoever owns the items is watching us right now. In any case splitting up will just make it easier for them and harder for us." suggests Quin as he heads back to the tavern.
As the group that went outside re-enters the tavern, they see Balthazar up at the front of the tavern talking to Mercer, the owner. They appear to have just completed their conversation.
OOC The group is currently at a tavern at the crossroads. There are only a couple buildings here: the tavern, a barn, a small house behind the tavern, and a two-story building immediately the west of the tavern. This building is connected to the tavern by a narrow corridor and presumably contains rooms for people to stay in. There is no church here, nor any building that might resemble a thieves guild.
Quiller will join the others, bringing a pitcher of ale to wet any dry whistles. "Okay,", he says in a low voice, pitched to carry no further than their table. "That we seemed to have been played is pretty much beyond question, so . . . what're we gonna do about it?"

(welp, i tried. we're keeping it, though. let the mage look at it.)
(same with the green liquid)
