Aldrik watches all of this with concern, and puts a hand on Lyss's shoulder before she rushes into the book. "Careful Lyss! Could be a trap, even more so than what's already sprung. Let's see if Cico has the right idea with his rope, while you check it carefully."
Lyss’s hand passes through the barrier easily enough. Cico’s rope flies up through the air before glancing off of an unseen barrier 20 feet above acting as some kind of ceiling. It’s now that you notice dust and leaves seemingly floating in the air where they’ve been unable to fall to the alley floor.
Aldrik, despite displaying such caution is truly stumped at where to look for traps. Just seems to be a regular podium, and a regular book and quill.
Cico watches the rope fly up and hit the invisible ceiling before falling back to the alley floor. He watches the leaves sitting on top of the invisible barrier for a moment, before reaching down and recoiling the rope and storing it in his backpack.
"We will have to find another way out," Cico says to Aimee.
He then looks over to the others on the outside of the barrier.
"It looks like we will have to go in further. The blue robed man did, so there must be a way."
Cico gathers his pack and the rest of his gear. Then he bundles up the waiter uniform into a ball and throws it down to the other end of the alley to see if it sets off any traps. While it does, he examines the pathway ahead of them for any trip wires or paving stones that may move.
Lyss, anything you try to throw in seems to bounce off of the invisible wall.
Cico doesn’t see any traps so far along the pathways leading to the left and right. No windows or doors facing out to the alley either. The path to the left turns right after a few feet and the path to the right turns left perfectly mirroring each other and both leading north.
As Aldrik glances at the mural, the biggest stand out to him are the two direction signs. “GOLD” pointing left and “SILVER” pointing right down the two forks of the alley.
"Oh, I have a way out! I just really wanted to write another name in the book to see if I got another picture on the wall! I guess I can't do that so we should go, huh?"
She smiles understandingly at Cico,
"Anyhow, when I was looking at the me and the Lyss on the wall, they are really good by the way, I saw a little message! It's really worked in well with all the background! Probably would have missed it if I wasn't so good at reading the stuff people wrote into illuminations in books! You know, the fun pictures around the sides of the words! That's where people put the best stuff! I learned that joke about the two clerics of Moradin and the iron bar from one! Lyss explained it for me!"
As she cheerfully explains she walks over to the barred window,
"Okay, 50ft south from here there should be a secret door! Come on Al and Cico! When we find it the rest of you can come in!"
((She start by checking the left path and then the right. She'll check both to make sure they don't both have the barred windows before pointing the way. Hopefully.))
Heading down the “Gold” path, Aimee looks around the corner to the right. The shining blue alley path heads on a little before turning once again to the left. This time though, there are a couple of steps at the back of the alley just after the turn, leading up to a wooden door, reinforced with iron. The rightmost wall has a door seemingly made of ivory, adorned with paintings of carnivorous animals eating their prey.
Aldrik lets Aimee scout ahead, but he keeps close trail on her. He seems ready to draw his blade at any hidden threats, and keeps his keen danger sense about him as he looks around.
Cico hesitates at following. Memories swirl around inside his head. Finally he calms the phantoms in his mind and calls after Aimee.
”Aimee. Wait. I have spent time in places like this. Seeing traps and danger before it saw me kept me alive. You are quick and nimble but you have the attention span of a small child.”
Cico then follows Aimee, checking the way as he goes.
Cico slowly and meticulously checks the passage as he and Aimee check ahead. They make it to the turn, leading to a dead end. On the left wall is what looks like a skeleton, its mouth open as if screaming and its arms outstretched. The right wall has two identical wooden doors leading into the building to the right.
Aldrik watches all of this with concern, and puts a hand on Lyss's shoulder before she rushes into the book. "Careful Lyss! Could be a trap, even more so than what's already sprung. Let's see if Cico has the right idea with his rope, while you check it carefully."

"Well, then."
Aldrik looks to Edvord. "Care to take a dip into a mystical trap box and save our compatriots?"
He goes to sign the ledger as just "Al" and pass through to join Cico and Aimee, and takes a glance at the mural.

"Which one has the secret door?" Cico asks.
"The one with the barred window!"
((If Aimee walks down there can she see a barred window in one of those directions?))
Looking around the alley where you are - there are literally no windows barred or otherwise on any of the walls - which is odd.
