"Are we robbing him blind, so we don't have to pay his rates? Where do you think he keeps the stuff that can't be traced back to him? Hard cash, not statues and baubles. I bet he has a safe in his bedroom. He seems like that sort. Hidden of course, probably behind a painting, like no one's gonna look there. Probably another one in the basement for stuff that doesn't have sentimental value, that's probably the one to hit."

"I think Edvord is looking more for secrets and scandals and less petty theft... I say before we go all larcenous, perhaps we see about his tasks and speak to his competitors?"
Aldrik feels the familiar lack of weight and sighs. "No, you got them right. Besides, I'm sure their will be plenty of opportunity to heist some dragons later..."
Cico looks on as Lyss tosses back coin pouches to the brothers.
"You are quick," Cico says then he looks around the room to see if anyone was watching. "They whip people caught stealing in this city."
He pauses and looks at he ceiling before continuing.
"Dray. Talking violet Maxeene. Hiding Zhents," he recites to himself and lets it hang in the air for a moment before continuing. "I would like to talk to Maxeene. She could give us a ride to this casino you mentioned."
"Assuming that it doesn't have its own carriage-master, unless he's in on it. Otherwise it might be odd to shout questions at a horse while riding it. Perhaps a quick bribe of a coin to the driver to let us show off the beautiful horse up close to our young friend? And you can put that set of sticky fingers to good use, Lyss, so it doesn't even have to be my money used in the bribe, for a change."
Edvord doesn't appear to perturbed over the theft of his money. He studies the heft of the bag tossed to him, it is much heavier than the one he left home with. Holding the bag up Edvord speaks, "This must be your's Aldrik, I only had a few silvers."Edvord fishes out a gold piece from Aldrik's bag and tosses it to Lyss, before exchanging the correct purses with his brother. "We all have our own agendas and schemes... such capabilities should be fostered and rewarded."
Scratching at his goatee he ponders the conversation that has been occurring, "The old man is still a potential benefactor... it is his information not his riches that interest me. Information could be traded, perhaps more easily than coin, to obtain to the ends we seek. But you all are correct... we should seekt out what we can from the Mermaid, visit a few competitors... and find the talking horse...? before making hasty decisions."
Looking at the younger members Edvord remarks, "Some of us might not be welcome in certain establishments... Perhaps we should either split our attention or figure out a good excuse for why the youngsters would accompany us. I'm open to any thoughts."
Cico tilts his head to one side as he takes in what Edvord is saying, trying to decipher his meaning.
"You want to go back and break into Mirt's home, correct?" Cico asks.
He looks at Edvord for a long moment before nodding.
"Okay. I will come," he finally says. "I have some experience moving quietly in the dark."
He then does his best to smile at Aimee.
"We could just ask and see who gets agitated," he says then pauses. "Or do more of the sneaking Edvord wants to do."
"And why are we breaking in exactly?"

Lyss lobs a very thin coin pouch at Aldrik and a hefty one at Edvord.
"It's all there, I didn't take any, just stretching my fingers. Though I might have mixed them up..."

"Not any flower," Cico says to Aimee. "Violet and only violet. Dray. Talking violet Maxeene. Hiding Zhents."
He then looks to Edvord and the others.
"You know this town. I do not. Where would we find drays taking the wealthy to the Mermaid? We could start there."
Looking at Aimee and Lyss, and for the first time seeming to recognize their youth.
"You are young?" Cico asks then turns to the others. "That answers many questions. The young are easier to talk to."
He looks Lyss up and down and then Aimee.
"They could be young servants."
"I'm of legal age! I can own property and be taken to court for arson! Accidental arson!"
"I barely come up to your knee, you didn't notice? I think I own property now, but don't know about arson."
