Merric points to the tracks, listening to Lucius for a moment and says, "Sire says these tracks likely are those of the fiends we seek. We should press on." Bobbert groans, readying his rolling pin and presses on behind Merric and Lucius, following the muddy trail.

"You think just because you've got fancy britches you can order us around like your servant there?" Logan eyes Lucius for a moment " I could use a drink!" and Logan will head towards the well.
Marcus looks between the two men and then to Lucius says meekly "I represent the Skinner Timber company m'lord, if you're in need of help with your wood, put yourself in our capable hands." and he extends out a business card to the noble.
Merric moves to accept the card for Lucius, nodding. "Your servitude is appreciated by the Barrow." Lucius glares at Logan, but says nothing. Bobbert eyes the area nervously, watching for any more flying rocks. "Perhaps, we should make our way to some place with more cover?"

Herb happened to have been standing right beside Grengrun when the boulder literally took his head off. The headless body of Grengrun stood upright for a good 10 seconds before slumping down. Herb immediately relieved himself of his ample lunch, all over the lifeless body laying at his feet. It was a sight to see, for sure.
Knack, suddenly a free agent, hemmed and hawed whether to run away and be free, or to continue on with the group into the keep. After realizing that the entirety of the group had left him for inside, and hearing the noise coming from above, his lower body started running to catch up with the group, while his upper body started heading the other way. Quickly falling flat into the growing pool of blood around his former master, the whaling and tears quickly followed.
Herb realized that Knack was missing, so quickly went back outside the keep to retrieve him.
The quickly diminishing Knights of the Square Table both ran at top speed into the courtyard, and passed by the group of fellow warriors (?!) and down the trail where the snake path led.
Bobbert, seeing Logan wander toward the well, grabs Merric's sleeve to halt his progress. "Wait a moment, little one. The more of us together, the less chance we are the ones who get splatted by a rock." He offers a quick glance toward Lucius. "Of course, I know that is what sire would think in his infinite wisdom." Lucius snorts, but holds up his hand for the others to stop and mutters something to Merric, who sprints after Logan. "OK, let's see what foul respite this well has to offer."

A barren ridge of black stone rises from the overgrown courtyard. A low stone wall marked with eerie sigils is built atop the crest of the stone, marking a well. A stout block and tackle frame supports a single thick chain that plunges into the inky blackness. A soft moan rises from the well, like a faint cry for help.
After a few seconds of wild running down the snake path, Herb slams on the brakes when he realizes he’s completely alone. Knack quickly slams into the back of stalled Herb, and they both tumble to the ground in a classic Laurel and Hardy scene.
”You bumbling fool! What have you gotten me into?!” Herb chastises Knack. “This is all your fault!”
They both stand back up, dust their clothes off, and quietly meander back to the crowd gathered around the old well.
You peer into the depths of the well. You can see a yawning darkness, and your perception and spatial reality seem to falter for just a moment. It spooks you, and you reel back. Safe. For now. You have an overwhelming sense of dread and do not wish to do that again, or be near the well.
Bran nods his thick skull and follows. "Aint no reason to be lookin down no well..." He says with a grunt, hefting his hand axe as he follows away from the well.
Seven just grips his club and heads off with anyone leaving the well.
Flanked by crumbling stone walls, the moss-covered tower stands proud despite the ravages of time. A tall, rust-bound portal bars the tower's sole entrance, watched over by a leering demonic gargoyle. Rings of deep arrow slits pierce the thick walls, and overarching battlements look high above.
The door appears to be barred from within. You can either:
Smash it down with a DC20 Strength check, or hack away at it in about five minutes of hard labor.
Bobbert looks nervously from the door to the arrow slits and back, recalling the boulder falling on their unfortunate comrade. "I'm not too keen on standing at the door, hacking away for minutes of time. Might I suggest we find an alternate route, sire?" Lucius and Merric confer before the halfling turns to the others in the party. "Sire finds wise counsel in these words. We could try to smash it, but he does not suggest prolonged attempts. They would obviously alert others to our location and put us in harm's way."
