Baymen shook his head in slightly exaggerated gratitude. He'd been glad that hadn't simply attacked him. He stated calmly, "No, just going through-trying to visit the shore. I've not seen the ocean since I landed and I grew quiet found of it on my way over." He then lowered his arms finally. "Speaking of fishing, I feel I should let you know, there are so MIGHTY large fish in these parts, and ye may want to carry some manner of large weapon when angling." He chuckled. 

Alex approaches slowly, her left hand behind her, clutched onto her longbow. "Yeah, and don't get too close, they may try to swallow you whole and it smells an awful deal like rotten seafood."

Following just behind Alex, Cnicus smirks. "It also had clothes on, like a funny puppet. Cute little thing, until it tried to bite one's face off... Any idea of what such a creature could have been? Never seen anything like it in my life, and as a fisherman I suppose you could have some idea of what we are talking about. It certainly resembled a fish, at least..."

Megoddosh narrows his eyes as he listens to his companions' jests. He remembers hearing something... in the Trishdale tavern, maybe?

A note to everyone, 

I will contact Jumpier, but no need to drop out yet. I will take over the campaign if Jumpier doesn’t come back.

The party is in the large grove as they converse with a group of four fisherman. They seem to be friendly and outgoing, despite the oppressive forest gloom. 

One of the fisherman scratches his head. "A fish-creature with clothes? Haven't heard of such a thing. Well, the catch around here is usually larger than your average fish, and have quite a tendency to bite back at ya'. But what you're talking about is crazy," he laughs. 

Another one of the fishermen pipes up. "If you're traveling to the shore, you wouldn't mind if we came with you, would'ya? You know, safety in numbers and all."

Cnicus laughs. "Of course, please do! That way, if we find another of those walking fish y'all will see that we are not crazy..."

The fisherman smiles and scratches his bald head. "Great! It's always nice to have some company in this lonely forest. I'm Lucas, by the way." 

He extends his calloused hand to shake, before pointing at his companions. 

"The one with oily hair- that's me brother Sam. My dad's the one with the harpoons- try not to get on his nerve, alright? And there's my uncle..." 

A slightly obese man has leaned against the tree and fallen asleep during the conversation. He is shaken awake by Lucas and greets you, a little embarrassed. 

Lucas continues, "We're all one family, and we've been fishing for generations. Now, let's get going, alright?" 

Alex inspects his hand before cautiously shaking it. "Pleasure to meet you, I'm Alex. let's head out, shall we?" She turns to the group

"My name's Cnicus, by the way. Pleasure to meet you, Lucas!" He responds affably. Then he turns and follows Alex, as he answers her. "Sure, let's go!"

"Verily, may our travels forward go well. My name is Baymen and it is good to have met you all." He say before proceeding ahead as well. 

After making their introductions, the party accompanies the fishermen forward into the Corrupted Forest. They prove to be quite an asset as they lead the party through small trails and sparser parts of the woods, speeding up travel significantly. 

Around noon, the group breaks for lunch. Lucas asks, "Now, I'm not quite sure I know where you guys are actually going. We're heading to prime fishing grounds at the Shore. You?" 

Alex remains silent, she just draws the areas on her map, not hungry at all.

Baymen will pep up, "You know fellows, I honestly couldn't say-im rather new here." With a pensive chin grab, "I've heard rare herbs grow along the beach, seen fish men in the woods about it and now there's prime fishing spots-is there something about this water i should know?" 

The uncle responds, "Rare herbs? I know a few off the top of my head." 

He glances towards Lucas, who shrugs. 

The father, who's polishing his harpoon, says, "The water? Not unlike any other water. But it's what's inside the water that matters." 

He smiles, revealing a set of blacked gums and teeth. 

Lucas says, "The herbs grow in hard to get to places- and are a little dangerous to find. But assume with the firepower you're packing, that's not too much of a concern. Say, we know a few areas that could be of use, and a few shortcuts to get there. Why don't you follow us? It's just on the way to our fishing grounds." 

"A shortcut, you say?" Cnicus speaks. "That's alright to me. There's so much walking around these short legs of mine can take before they get tired, you know? A shortcut sounds marvellous."

He turns to the group. "What do you guys say?"
