Morn runs over to Clem's youngest and plucks one of the creatures off him, "Make sure to keep away from them, little one. Your father needs you, remember that. Keep them at bay."

Morn pulls one of the pumpers off Clem's youngest, who looks at you in a bit of confusion. "Uh, thanks, Slim."
((Realizing I didn't ever really describe them at all, and calling them boys may have confused things, but they're all burly fellows between 25 and 35. 😂 And just because it amuses me, now I'll say that the youngest is by far the huskiest of the trio.))
He keeps an eye on Morn as he pulls the other one's questing mouth out of his flesh.
His brothers pair up to extract and finish off the one on their father, and Trinjya neatly skewers the one he's still holding.
The one Sirq pulled loose and tossed comes back his way, and the ones in Morn's and Samael's grasp seek to attach themselves as well.
Attack Sirq: 7 Damage: 6
Attack Morn: 14 Damage: 7
Attack Samael: 6 Damage: 5
((Sirq, Morn and Samael, give me Stress checks one last time, and then we'll say that the combined group is able to detach and finish off the remaining three before they get a chance to pump you.))
Horatio takes stock, blood still pumping with fiery energy (7 temp hp just floatin around in there) and looks around at the wounded party.
"This is a blow, but it could have been much worse, I think." He briefly examines one of the brutalized corpses of the pumpers. "Still, I wonder if there are more of them out there. Clem, how soon will you be ready to leave this place?"
Morn winces as the newly freed creature bites him and leaves a small mark. "Interesting creatures. Uh, would these be in abundance out here?" he says to the two sons nearby.
Sirq collapses on the ground after the last of the pumpers is finished off. "I feel so weak," he says faintly. "I'm sorry guys. I think I'll be ok, but not for much longer." He drags himself back to the cabin. "I think I'll check in for the rest of the night, I need to rest up."
(Edit: YOU GUYSSSS! I'm sorry guys, I really don't want this to happen, I don't know why my rolls are so cursed.)
"Agreed Samael. You prove yourself a wise companion on this little endeavor." Horatio gives a weak half-grin at his own little jest. Turning to Sirq, concern clouds his countenance.
"I grow concerned for your longevity should you choose to continue. Perhaps it would be best if you did not over exert yourself in the coming days. Indeed, Morn, you seem particularly shaken as well. Horrors in the night... but, are you well enough to persevere?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
[OOC: Is the dead bat-creature still attached to Trinjya? Also, is our short rest for the night already over? Would westill be allowed to for example roll hit dice if we'd wish to?]
Trinjya forces the fear she had felt when the pumper attached to her back down and gives the group a wide smile.
"It seems like the forests around here have earned their reputation." She walks over to one of the corpses on deck of the ship and pokes it with her rapier.
"Disgusting little creatures, are they common around here Mr. Clem?"
While waiting for an answer, she walks over to the river side of the boat and starts looking for her dagger. (Investigation 4)
Clem holds still while one of his sons squeezes around the wound, working the rest of the fluid out, getting it to where the blood is flowing cleanly before dowsing it in a murky spirit. One of the others comes over and performs the same care for Samael, as the only other one that got 'pumped'.
In response to questions about when you'd be leaving, Clem winces as he's being tended to. "River's treacherous at night, we'll head out once we've enough light to see by." ((This happened in the third of four watch shifts during the night.))
Samael, for his part, seems to be burning with a zealous certainty, and isn't letting the trials of the day and the night faze him.
Sirq has had a very rough go of things, and rather rightly decides that he ought to lie down.
Morn puts on a brave face, but his heard is racing as he attempts to master himself as he inquires about the prevalence of pumpers. "Usually not in those numbers. Biggest we seen was fiver or six, I think and it'd always been best to put em down fast. They only got one thing they want to do, hiding in the cabin, they'd've been scrabbling at it all night, and pumping at the cracks to eat through the wood. Thanks, you lot helped put em down faster than we could've."
Trinjya's dagger is sticking out of a dead pumper bobbing in the eddy alongside the boat and she's able to retrieve her dagger easily.
"Toss the bodies to the shore, they'll bloat up something awful by morning, and we don't need them eating through the boat. Samael, you're still looking... energetic, give us a hand swabbing the deck down, don't need any of that eating into the wood. Sirq, wash up and sleep. Suggest any of the rest of you that got any of their guts splashed on you give a good rinse too before you turn in. Last watch is up.", Clem's oldest says, taking charge as his brother finishes tending Clem's wound.
The night time excitement past, the enemy defeated, and wounds being proverbially licked, those of you not on watch turn in for a few more hours of rest. Dawn breaks, the shining sun burning the fog off the river and putting a cheerier face on the day.
((You have all finished a short rest, and may roll HD. Sirq, if you'd like to have used your bardic Song of Rest, I'd say you didn't need to stay up all night playing, but if you played a bit at dinner and a bit at breakfast, folks could benefit from your extra 1d6. So can roll HD+CON, presumably with an additional 1d6, and regain that many HP. If you're still down and would like to regain more, you can expend up to two more HD to roll the HD + CON again, but Song of Rest is just once.))
((Sirq and Samael, please also each give me a CON Save to see if you have recovered from your exertions the day before. DC 12.))

(Yeah, Sirq will use his Song of Rest. I'll just do one HD for now, and see how we're doing.)
As Sirq tries to fall asleep after the scarring events that had just occurred, he plays his flute to calm himself down.
CON save: 3
Having rested a little and regained 6 hit points, Sirq will continue to play his flute over breakfast, hoping to invigorate and rejuvenate Clem and his boys, as well as his fellow party members.
Sirq and Samael both still seem to be dragging after their day of labor yesterday.
((Per discussion in OOC, you may roll the 1d6 for Song of Rest twice, as both Sirq and Trinjya are playing for the group, and take the higher die in HP regained.))

Trinjya will retrieve her dagger before it get's a chance to sink and vanish into the muddy water and settles back on the boat for her shift of the watch. When Sirq starts playing on her flute, Trinjya listens for a moment to get familiar with his tune, then takes out her flute and joins in with a complementary melody.
She keeps sitting on the boat in the light of the slowly rising sun, playing her flute while carfully watching the sky and the riverbanks up and down stream. Perception 17
