As Alev swoops down and tears into Gustav, it arches its back and throws you off. Seeing the opportunity, Rudick swings his weapon and knocks its head off in one blow. It slumps to the ground as you turn you attentions elsewhere. When you look away, it rises again and leaps up to Rudick, but Skip intercepts it and truly finishes it off.

Elizabeth still cowers in the corner.

Seeing that their claws have immobilized Sergei, one of them who hit him rushes up to Leann and attacks. 

Against Leann -

Ghoul 1 Claw Attack: 16 Damage: 8 slashing damage and you need to make a DC 10 constitution saving throw to avoid being paralyzed for one minute. You can repeat the saving throw at the end of your turn.

Ghoul 3 Claw Attack: 15 Damage: 8 slashing damage and you need to make a DC 10 constitution saving throw to avoid being paralyzed for one minute. You can repeat the saving throw at the end of your turn.

Ghoul 4 Claw Attack: 16 Damage: 5 slashing damage and you need to make a DC 10 constitution saving throw to avoid being paralyzed for one minute. You can repeat the saving throw at the end of your turn.

Against Sergei -

Ghoul Three Claw Attack: 7 Damage: 7 slashing damage 

Sergei Constitution Saving Throw: 18 

Thadalas fires an arrow at Ghoul Three. Longbow Attack: 12 Damage: 11. The ghoul dies as his arrow pins it to the wall.

Tomm avoids the combat and rushes over to Sergei to cast Cure Wounds: 3.

With Gustav dealt with, Alev chirps and nods to Skip in thanks, before turning to see where the other half of the couple ended up.

He sees Elizabeth cowering in the corner, and he's enraged. "I don't know who the heck you are or what you are or what you were, and I don't give a damn!" He shouts at the spirit, adrenaline running high as one of his hands start glowing with chaotic magic. "All I know is that there were two kids here and you were their mother and you left them to die. So do us all here a favor and go back to hell!"

He casts a spell, and a mass of random magic energy strikes against Elizabeth, hopefully doing damage to her before she can leap to attack him.

Leann blocks two of the attacks against her, but a third manages to get past her shield and leave a bloody wound in her arm. She grits her teeth, resisting the vile wound and strikes back at the one who injured her...

"Wait!" Rudick's called, but its already too late. Assuming Alev's spell lands as intended, though not entirely certain how it may interfere with Tomm's magic, the Orc nevertheless strode forth grudgingly with Warhammer held high and ready to slam into Elizabeth's skull for good measure.

Action: Warhammer Time on Gustav.
Attack: 19 Damage: 5 magical bludgeoning.

Skip, seeing Sergei in trouble, heads over to aid him, striking out with both weapons again

 Oops, I missed those. I'll take those into account when I close this round after Sergei. Sorry about that.

Sergei gets up and aims an eldrich blast against Elizabeth

Attack: 24 Damage: 12 force dmg

Alev hurls a bolt of raw arcane power that coalesced into fire that slams into Elizabeth and blackens her hide. At his spell, the turning against her is broken. She leaps upward to pounce on Alev, but Rudick smashes his Warhammer into her face and knocks her back into the ground. She growls and rises before Sergei's blast of dark energy punches clean through her skull. She falls to the ground and dies a second death with a wailing screech. Skip darts into the fray with Leann as Sergei is no longer engaged with a ghoul. With his help, Leann is able to slay two of them while Skip puts down the third.

As the dust settles, you all suddenly feel a surge of unexplainable hatred against you. You can feel the weight of anger and fury pressing against you. The walls of the house quiver in rage and a monstrous howl rips through the air. The earth trembles you hear sections of the dungeon collapse. Notes of dust fall from the ceiling as the earthquake subsides. The monotonous chanting you heard from before has a tone of anger laced through it. The feeling of hatred lingers in the air as your surrounding relax to how it was before.

Sergei examines the rent in his robes where the ... thing ... clawed at him. The skin beneath was whole, however. Still, he could remember the burning of the poison inside him. Sergei says,

"Thanks for the help, everyone. Maybe we can make it through this thing, together."

His eyes had returned to normal when he cast the fire spell. Now he recasts detect magic and the eyes go jet black again.

Skip, breathing hard from the fight, sheathes his weapons, gathers himself, and heads back to the chest. “Better be something good in here after that”

he sets to work with his tools again

Alev feels the surge of hatred. His feathers ruffle and the scales on the back of his neck are visible for a short moment, glistening with a metallic gleam. "...Well, screw you too" He hisses. 

When that is over, he turns to his companions. "Are you really okay now? That rent on your clothes looks like it could have been really bad." He says to Sergei. "There was too much going on and I didn't understood much of it, but what you did looked so... Awesome! I can cast fire too, but the one you used looked like hellfire. I wish my spells looked as cool as that!"

Speaking up from where he is working, Skip mutters 

“I’ll be honest, what you did scared the crap out’a me. Was bloody good though “ 

He visibly shudders as he feels the palpable hate flowing around them all

Leann frowns as the hatred in the room becomes a tangible force. "This house really doesn't seem to like us..." She comments. She glances around the chamber, then nods and steps back into the dining area, moving back to the tunnel where the chanting is coming from. She takes up her guard position there once again.

The chest opens easily and you find chain mail, a spellbook, arcane components, two small vials that Sergei can see are magical, a broken crossbow, two pouches containing a total of 27 gold and 14 silver, a thieve's tools set, a pair of dice, a platinum amulet depicting a setting sun, and two daggers.

Skip sets the items out on the floor, laying them out so everyone can see, and invites those who see something of use to take them. He examines the amulet for himself

Sergei will try to determine the nature of the liquids. 

Sergei, make an Arcana check.

You can tell that the amulet is old. It is of fine craftsmanship, and has been worn frequently.

As one that was no stranger to looks of hate once the helmet came off (and sometimes when its on!), Rudick snorts after the show of shaking out of the house. "The feeling is mutual, Leann." He replied prior to her departure. "And while not its heart, now that we've seen to its..." He looks to the corpses. "Petitioners? Creators? Whatever the were, the heart yet remains to be dealt with." Is all he added before giving the chest contents a once over as Skip laid it out. 

Which apart from the daggers, which he tucked away on his person, the rest he made some off hand motion as he said, "Keep a hold of the coin as usual, Skip. And Sergei? Any idea what's in those?"

"I'm not a rogue, or a thief... But I'll be keeping these, if you all don't mind. Can I?" Alev says, interested on the thieves' tools.

He nods to Rudick. "I kinda thought that maybe with them gone, the house would die with them, but how we all just saw that's not what happened. Good freaking riddance, in any case. Just one more monster to go... At least, that's what I hope."
