"...I vote for the inn." Alev answers to Leann, still tired of everything that has happened so far. "But Skip is still at the church, ain't he? We need to go in for him, I'm afraid."

The priest responds while he fidgets with the hem of his sleeve this time, "No, he is not possessed. He is... he is an undead spawn of the vampyr." He slumps to the ground and buries his face in his hands as he says, "I'm too weak to put him from his misery. My son is dead, but I can't kill what came back to me. Light help me..." he says as despair settles upon him.
“Then we may be able to help you. I have a silver sword, we have a Cleric and casters, and a strong arm. If you wish, we could help you after we rest. We are pretty spent......
the gnome slumps as he says this, the exhaustion and stress of the precious encounter evident on his small face
....oh, erm, what’s the best way to kill a vampire?”
From his position of misery, he says, "Driving a stake through their heart will immobilize them. We then usually cut off their heads and burn the bodies. That's only if we have trapped them of course. When you encounter one, the normal means of killing work if they don't kill you first. Magics and enchanted blades work better than mundane means." He sighs and looks up at you sorrowfully. "If you mean to kill my... my son, do it quickly please. Don't make him suffer, please."
Skip, you know what he says is true. You also know the following:
True vampires can't enter a building without permission
When true vampires are almost destroyed, they turn into mist and escape to their coffin and regenerate. If their coffin is destroyed, they are utterly destroyed.
Vampires are hurt by running water.
Sunlight destroys vampires.
Garlic repels vampires
Vampires avoid mirrors
When a true vampires sucks the life from someone, that someone rises as a vampiric slave if they are buried in a coffin
Vampires often control creatures of the night and use them as spies. The include wolves, bats, and rats
The party concludes the funeral rites for their fallen companion. They solemnly leave the grave behind and find a thoughtful Skip waiting outside for them. He rejoins everyone as the name their way back to the tavern in town.
You push open the door and reveal a sparsely populated common room. Behind the bar against the far wall, a pudgy little man stands polishing a row of wine glasses on the bar. You see an older, grizzled man sprawled across a table snoring with pint of alcohol resting on the table with him. Three colorfully dressed woman sit at a table near the entrance and chat animatedly, but quietly to themselves. The colors they wear flash violently with each other. They all have long, curly black hair that falls down nearly to their waists. Their skin is an alive color, and then their eyes are a sparkling green. They seem healthy and full of life much unlike everyone else you have seen so far. Finally, a man with blond hair sits in the corner table with his booted feet atop the table surface. He watches you enter as he nurses a glass of red wine.
Although tired, Skip can’t help but notice the contrast of colour, and the vitality displayed by the patrons. A vast difference from what he has seen so far. He whispers to the group “Either screams and weird mist are such common occurrences here that these folk can ignore it, or we are in a world of trouble. ‘As anyone of you got a mirror Handy?”
"No, I'm afraid..." Alev murmurs. He would usually be quick to introduce himself to a group of strangers, but he's tired, and everything that has happened so far since they came to this town has left him wary and scared. He lefts anyone else do the talking.

A once more helmeted Rudick snorts. "Do I look like the type?" He asked, giving Skip a brief, sidelong look, before then return his attention towards scanning the locals. "For now, let's just get a drink and make arrangements... Perhaps even chat up the locals about where we are, how did we get here, and mayhaps... how do we depart after any other necessary business is concluded."He said, eyeing the women by then for perhaps a moment too long.
But eventually, he shook his head, huffs to himself, and follows after Leann, looming over like a protective shadow, just in case the barkeep proved uppity.
The man behind the bar says mechanically as he pours several drinks, "1 copper per wine glass." After pouring the drinks, he goes back to polishing the remains glasses and says blandly, "3 copper per room. We have ten rooms." He seems like he is dead inside with no emotions or vitality.
Sergei will sink into a chair, eye the other patrons, defer to the others to make arrangements. Is there anything more he can discern through observation?
Leann nods and glances to the others. "I will be needing my own room, are we all wanting our own, or will some be sharing?" She pulls coins out to pay for her room, but does not purchase any wine.
Rudick cants his head a little at the barman's behavior. But a moment later, he's mumbling "Too tired for this" as he shook his head a few times. "Are you-...?" He pauses mid-answer to Leann to look between her and the rest of the group. "Right... Boundaries... Ahem... Sharing. The rest will be sharing. Two a room. Just in case. Skip? If you don't mind. Use my cut of our acquisition back in the house for the remaining rooms. And a few glass of wine for those wanting it. We could all use it. After, we can rest. Though... I think I'll stay up a bit more. Get acquainted with locals less terrified out of their minds for a change."
