Alev just nods, a little disappointed that he didn't knew that much else, but still deciding to ask him further about this once this whole ordeal was over. He starts looking around, paying attention to any sound that could mean that the monster was there with them.

Lucan goes into the house with everybody else. Keeping silent for most of the time. In his mind, repeats the scenes of a werewolf coming out of the window of his father's study and a pool of blood, then to the parents of the children, trapping the monster in the basement, or are they trapping themselves?*
"We should find the secret door, maybe search on the master bedroom, they said only the parents knows this, right?"
As the last member of the party rushes in and slams the door behind them, you can feel the door suddenly become cold and clammy as the mist arrives. None of it enters.
You find yourself in a 10 by 15 foot chamber. In this foyer, the 15 foot long wall to your right has a shield emblazoned with a stylized windmill on a red field hanging on it. Flanking the shield are framed portraits of stony faced aristocrats. Mahogany-framed double doors set with glass panels is on the far wall. The floorboards and wall panels are well oiled, and the wallpaper looks fresh. On the left wall, two unlit oil lanterns are hanging from the wall. The room is in complete darkness.
Thadalas moves around the chamber without struggle, thanks to his darkvision. If points a thumb to the unlit lanterns. "May be useful to those whom cannot see in the dark." Thadalas says to the rest. He inspects the shield with the windmill emblazoned on it. "There's also a shield here, if anyone needs one." he adds on, moving forward to see if the mahogany double-doors are locked or not.
Thadalas will remove one of the oiled lanterns hanging on the wall and will hand it to Sergei. "Let there be light, my friend." he says calmly, as he returns back to the mahogany double-doors and will cautiously open them to peer into the next room.
Alev, also unable to see anything, grabs Sergei's arm for guidance, his clawed hand probably doing more pressure than he intended to. "I would light it... But I think I would also light the whole house on fire if I tried." He explains, apologetic. "I can create fire, but I don't know how to control it yet, sorry."
Rudick finally stops his surveying of the room to regard those stumbling around in the dark. Then with a huff, he grudgingly puts away hammer for tenderbox, and following a "Hold the Lantern Still", set about lighting whatever oils remain in it. "There. That will do. Can't have you blundering into the creature now can we?" He states; a hint of a smile behind his tone. "Don't have no spare oil. But have torches. If come to that though, be mindful of flames." He adds as he turned to to again look more closely at the portrait.
All for the sole purposes of memorizing the faces of the adults, so that he knew just who to smack for abandoning their children... or to apologies for the thought, if they had been fighting off the creature. Remembering his original goal in that moment, Rudick hurries to the double doors and steps on inside the next room to search for signs of the nursery or creature.
You open the door to reveal a 15 by 30 foot hall that runs the length of the house. Along the 15 foot long wall to the left, a black marble fireplace rests unlit. On the far right side, a sweeping red.marble staircase rises to the floors above. Mounted on the wall above the fireplace is a longsword with a windmill cameo worked into the hilt. The wood paneling of the room are ornately sculpted with images of vines, flowers, nymphs, and satyrs. The decorative paneling follows the staircase as it circles upward. Across from you and a little to the right, a mohagony door is set into the wall. The is a similar door a few feet to the right of the one as well. Immediately to your right a few feet away is another door.
Thadalas walks over to the fireplace, and will use his tinderbox to ignite a flame (if possible), to help those without darkvision. He then notices the longsword resting above the fireplace. "First a shield with a windmill, and now a sword with a windmill? That's peculiar. Anyway, a longsword here if anyone wants it." Thadalas calls out to the others. "I do like the wood paneling, nice theme." he adds on. He walks over when Sergei asks for where they should go next.
"Perhaps we should search every room down here before we go upstairs. If we have shields and longswords with windmills on them, might find more useful items." he suggests kindly.
((Oops, forgot to mention that to the right of the two doors next to each other, there is an alcove with another door in it.))
After a few tries, the fireplace ignites and sends warmth indication tonight throughout the room. With the dancing firelight filling the room, Skip, you notice that intermingled with the designs on the wood paneling are coilling serpents and grinning skulls.

Sergei cannot see in the dark, and apparently has no means of creating light.
"Does anybody have a light source? I can't see a thing..."
The doors are unlocked.
Thorn says, "Rose and I will stay here." He reaches out and takes hold of Rose's hand and says, "We don't want to see the monster."

"Err, can somebody light this?"
Lucan with his darkvision can see in the dark without lamps. “I forgot to brought a tinderbox with me, sorry.” He replied Sergei’s question.

With the lantern lit and the party goes further into the house, Lucan follows silently at the bag, he draws his rapier, wary of incoming werewolves.

Sergei waves goodbye to the kids as he proceeds into the next room. Taking it all in, he says,
”So, up the stairs to secure the baby first? Or look around to find the monster first? I don’t fancy fighting a monster while holding a baby...”
He mutters under his breath,
“Actually I don’t fancy fighting a monster with both arms free, either...”

“If you need a weapon there is a longsword by the fireplace.” He said to Sergei.
Lucan then inspect the staircase and the three doors. “Well folks, we got a few ways to pick. Let’s choose one by one and get this monster.”
