The wolf that had taken the first attempt at Rollo yelps as if it has just been kicked, then falls down foaming at the mouth with blood leaking out its tear ducts
Merry seeing the remaining sleeping wolves creeps away, I agree Coal. And as much as I don’t like anything dog-like in the slightest, I see no point in harming them now they’re soundly asleep.
Leaving the last two wolves asleep in a bush, you head to the lights of the Bargewright Inn. The main gate is still open but you see guards preparing to close it and you hurry inside.
You find a walled community of ramshackle, often-rebuilt wooden towers and buildings now entirely cloaking a hill that overlooks the village of Womford across the river. It has inns, stables, and warehouses and reeks of manure and filthy mud.
Merry looks around at her surroundings, looking slightly confused and then grins, clapping her paws together, I know this inn! They were so lovely last time I was here; lots of free milk! The patrons are a little strange to say the least, kept thinking I was someone else...
Merry shakes her head and then goes in search of the innkeeper.
Arnnon is acutely aware that every eye in the Old Bargewright is on them when they enter. Most go back to their own discussions but he can tell they are still being watched out of the corners of eyes by some of the shifter patrons. No one reaches for a weapon...for now
The barkeep looks up at the sound of Merry's voice. By the Host, you again. He mumbles under his breath.
Ah, hullo miss. Back again so soon? I was surprised when you left a few days back without staying in the room that had been paid for. Still one night left on it, your friend left yesterday.
I wouldn’t exactly call him a friend, I have no idea who he was. Would you mind terribly if that room offer was extended to my friends here as well? And yes, some fresh milk would be lovely!
