(In everyone's mind, you hear Cade's mental-voice...
"On second thought, let's go to that barn, or the tower, either is likely better than here." he moves back from the window he just peeked through. Still mind-to-mind... "There are way too many people inside of there... We would be overwhelmed if we step inside."

Just as Barnanus reaches for the door handle he is interrupted by Cade's mental warning. Stopping short he hurries around the side of the building and heads for the barn.
Kina curses under her breath. "Just how long has this ... thing been kidnapping people and enthralling them? And no one noticed until recently?" she shakes her head. "We need reinforcements... but if those eyes are servants of this 'One' why aren't they more alert? We should be facing tower defenders at least, or something. Unless they're well-stocked and prepared for a siege, in which case we're hardly worth raising alarms for, since they know we can't just rush in there and fight..." she whispers, then thinks. "A force this large would need a generous larder. We could poison the food supply... it wouldn't necessarily kill them but it would definitely hurt their ability to maintain defenses, make them more inclined to surrender if they can't stop throwing sick."

"Do we go to the barn or the tower stub?" Cade asks, eyeing the larger cathedral building. "We cannot go inside the main building, or we'll just be mobbed and captured again. we also can't just stand out here in the open either..."
As you move towards the barn (or tower, or just away from the main building), everyone roll DEX save, AND WIS save. (Kina, you get advantage on DEX save for being 4-footed)
DEX save > 15:
As you walk, you find the ground beneath your feet to be suddenly slippery but manage to maintain your balance. Looking down, you see everything is covered in a layer of some sort of slime. Before you can react further, the ground returns to normal.
DEX save 10 - 15:
As you walk, you find the ground beneath your feet to be suddenly slippery and barely manage to avoid falling. Looking down, you see everything is covered in a layer of some sort of slime. Before you can react further, the ground returns to normal.
DEX save 5 - 9:
As you walk, you find the ground beneath your feet to be suddenly slippery and lose your footing, falling into some sort of slimy substance. Before you can react further, the ground returns to normal.
DEX save < 5:
As you walk, you find the ground beneath your feet to be suddenly slippery and lose your footing, falling hard into some sort of slimy substance, taking 1d4 damage. Before you can react further, the ground returns to normal.
WIS save > 15:
You hear a whisper at the back of your mind, "The One Is All," but are easily able to push it aside.
WIS save 10 - 15:
You hear a whisper at the back of your mind, "The One Is All," repeating over and over. While annoying, you do not feel it is a threat.
WIS save 5 - 9:
You hear a whisper at the back of your mind, "The One Is All," repeating over and over, trying to drown out other thoughts.
WIS save < 5:
You hear a whisper at the back of your mind, "The One Is All," steadily growing in volume until you just want to scream. Roll CON save DC 10 or you do scream.

"Well we are clearly being watched." Cade says to the others, using his own mental speach. "Keep your eyes out for any more of those eye things, and let's get to the barn. Don't just go in though, likely want to make sure a hundred of them aren't waiting in there as well."
As you approach the barn, all is quiet and no lights can be seen inside. The sun has slipped below the horizon, so only dim moonlight is available.
Looking back at the main building, lights glow softly from all of the southern windows. The northern end of the place seems to be less used. (While you can see in the windows, they do have bars that would prevent access.)
