'You cheeky bastard.' Mordrun retorted when he felt the pirate's scimitar rake him across the arm. 'If you wanted to dance, you should have just asked.'

He casually tossed his heavy crossbow aside, for it would not do well in melee combat, and drew his shortsword. It felt a bit odd to be this up close and personal with an enemy but as far as Mordrun could tell, the pirates did not seem accustomed to armed resistance. He deflected a blow and went in for a full bodied plunge, slightly aware that his hand seemed to be steadier than it normally was.
