The party is able to creep into the webbed woods without anyone getting tangled in the weave.
It's even darker in here than out on the deep-shaded trail, almost like twilight. Quiet, too, with no birdsong or chittering of squirrels, only occasional feeble squeaks and chirps from small creatures caught in the silken trap. No breeze blows here, and the stale, cool air smells faintly of decay.
Your party advances a few steps further, the skeletons of small animals crunching underfoot amid the litter of dry twigs and papery dead leaves.
You see a small, as yet living, bird that could perhaps be disentangled without doing too much damage to the webs.
And....
(One player may roll perception. Use the numbers for whichever PC has the best bonus. Gain advantage if you light a torch or otherwise create a bright light)
If/when the light starts getting dim Shayne does indeed cast Dancing Lights and has them move to the perimeter of the party to spread light to as much area as possible.
"It's not so much as I want to do battle for the life of small woodland creatures - Dawin did have a point, after all - I was just thinking if we freed one and got answers, if ginormous spiders to attack, at least it would be outside their nest?" Shayne suggests. "But perhaps a bit late for that now..."
Shayne takes a moment to reposition Fammy. She's sitting just inside of his loosely tied backpack so that he head can peek out and she can watch his back but she knows to stay put unless absolutely necessary... (Though she could jump out if it was necessary...). She's loudly "Mrowrl!" if any non party members try creeping up from behind Shayne. Shayne also loosens and readies his rapier. Just in case.
Shayne's conjured lights improve visibility, but also create eerie, shifting shadows.
Alyna can see that the little bird's wings are stuck, but not its head or feet. Someone with deft hands might be able to free it without tearing the web (DEX or sleight of hand DC 20).
She spies something beyond the bird, too, higher up in the trees and deeper in the webbing. A big bundle of silk, large enough to hold a man, stuck between two heavy oak branches. It's ten or eleven feet off the ground, and from here it looks impossible to reach without cutting through or otherwise removing many strands of silk.
"I'm afraid here we just have to try. And be ready to anything. See that cocoon over there? That could be miller. I mean, we can not leave now without checking." With all her observance, she was lacking in an action department. "Shayne... Could you get this bird out? I'll help with all I can!"
(Helping for advantage with pointers how to tear the web, plus 1d4 Guidance on Shayne for sleight of hand )
While lights were on, she herself picked up a few small rocks.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Shayne quickly tries to undo the bird 24 ((or 16 if Alyna does give me advantage) plus 2 from Guidance.
Success of fail, Shayne quickly turns his attention to the cocoon looking bundle, pulling out a dagger to start deftly cutting his way to it and calling out softly "Werthan? Pssst, Werthan, is that you??"

Shayne gets the bird free without tearing the web. Has he created a lot of vibration? Harder to say.
The little animal nestles in his hand, chirping loudly and ruffling its feathers. It doesn't try to fly up and away.
When Shayne calls out to the pod, he gets no answer from within it.
But someone calls down softly through the thick veil of web and foliage overhead, "Are you stealing supper from a poor old weaver-woman? What a naughty lad! Mind you don't get lost yourself and tangled up in bad trouble, Shayne."
Shayne quickly and gently as possible (quickly being more important) hands the bird to Alyna. "Protect those that need it, there's no better for it!" he says to Alyna, giving her a bit of bardic inspiration, and then draws his rapier.
He looks up, trying to find the body that goes with the voice...
What an unsettling voice. Creepy and from seemingly nowhere but everywhere at the same time. What was worse was that it was intelligent enough to listen to their conversation and learn Shayne's name. It sent chills down the woodsmans back.
Drawing both shortsword and axe, Eric takes a fighting stance to try and protect his party.
Alyna hold the bird, but did not begun the ritual to talk to the little critter, like Shayne she was looking and listening, trying to spot the one talking, though "weaver-woman" sounded more terrifying than promising in their situation.
"We would love to go, my dear lady. Surely we would. We mean you no disturbance or disrespect... Alas, we are on a mission to save our people. This entails finding our missing miller, a very necessary role in our community. You wouldn't have happened to have seen him, would you? If you could assist us I am sure we would do all we could to ensure your peace and quiet and, of course, get out... " Shayne says in his most persuasive manner. Persuasion18

(I think Alyna has the highest Perception. Plus she has Guidance)
If Shayne adds some light Alyna would be happy to spot the way to untangle the bird: Perception 19 + 4
