She nearly chokes at that request, a breastplate is 400gp she will sell you some scale mail for 40gp. A cage for you dog? She has nothing like that but you could try the smithy, they could make you something. She has no knowledge of Cragmore Castle and finally about the ruffians "Some people have tried standing up to them but it didn't end well for them."

The he is Sildar Hallwinter and he gave the group 50gp for saving his hide. This gave a total of 112gp from the orc cave /4=28gp each. (Grond is not taking a share). The she is Linene Graywind of Lionshield Coster and she gave the group 50gp for recovering her goods. This occurred in town so I started again. If you want to split it immediately you get another 12.5gp giving you a total of 40.5gp so you can buy your armour. And no Linene has a religious aversion to offering credit to adventurers.

Very well (I'll straighten out my record here.) Fah'lin thanks Linene for her time. Lets move on then. Shall we visit the Redbrand straight away. Get some grateful town folk behind us. Maybe those guys will know where the castle is. If not we'll have some conections to get the info from the locals more easily after we've been here a little.

Studded Leather armour 36gp rapier 20gp. You each have 40.5gp to spend plus anything left over from character creation

As a player my idea of a 'Cunning Plan' is -- kick in the front door; kill everything that moves; take their stuff.

Grond is the embodiment of this concept so he agrees with Fah'lin that staging a confrontation with the Redbrands is a good idea.

Actually, Aeliarin isn't proficient with the rapier (I reread the multiclassing rules) so he'll just get the armour.
