Garron manages to keep his alcohol down, but the game and conversation is enough of a distraction that he isn't fully paying attention as they watch.
(OOC: They only played one game, and it likely would not have lasted more than 10 minutes given the way that Ted was playing. Is the disadvantage on the check applicable for the whole shift? Or just during the game? If it is just during the game, do you need me to make a new check without disadvantage for after the game? Or can you use the first roll in that sequence?)
OOC: As I said Garron is human and has a limited sight beyond the fire. Ted because of the game. I was fairly clear I think.

“But no living man am I! You look upon a woman...You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King
"Love is a finicky thing, and I certainly don't claim to know anything about it," Garron says honestly, "I've never really felt that way about anyone, although I was pretty close with my parents before I came to the city." When Ted mentions chaining themselves to a single person he replies, "I suppose that's one way to look at it, although from what I hear, it's not all bad. I imagine that once it happens, it'll make more sense to us." He shrugs and takes another gulp from his flask. "Tell me a story about the city," Garron says, passing the flask back, "I never really got to explore much outside the Institute and you sound like you have some interesting tales to tell."

Molle gives Erika a thumbs up at the changed illusion. "Maybe there is a hair color changing spell out there."
She flops onto her back, as their gossip comes to an end with Zira's arrival. "We can talk more in the morning. Good night." With another yawn, she rolls onto her side, and tries to get some shuteye.

The ever growing document of character concepts can never be too long, can it?
(OOC: I believe it is Garron/Dreadbane, Molle/Trixi, and Areon/Erika for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd watch respectively.)
OOC: if this order is still the case we will move on. We'll firmly agree watch is just that, watch. Beyond conversation you'll have to roll at disadvantage.
Molle and Trixi please give me perception checks. Molle disadvantage due to no darkvision.

“The city... oh it’s so much fun!” Ted takes another sip from the flask, this time taking it alot better. “The bars of the underworld are full of such interesting people! Substances that make you feel like you are looking at the world inside out, exotic dancers, anything you can imagine. It’s all going on in the city. But it’s dangerous too. I got working for some people, I thought we’d just be punishing some corrupt officials and whatnot - but they were targeting people like my family, just innocents living their life. They don’t take well to breaking a contract down there, so I’m not sure if I could ever return, but what I would give to be living it up there right now....”
Hearing Molle and Trixi make their way out of their tent, Ted winks at Garron “Don’t.... don’t let the others know I’m nice. I’ve got a reputation to uphold. Good thing we’re over now actually, this stuff has got to my head a bit.”
((Areon is the smart kid at the roadside sleepover. And both Trixi and Molle have darkvision, from Triton and Half Elf respectively))
OOC: Apologies I thought Molle was a human. No worries! Uh who's Jenaer?

Usually Trixi awakened sharp and alert without phase in between, but the travel, the talks, the calmness of the night - all were too tiresome and relaxing in the same time for particular sharpness.
Molle steps out of the women's tent, grabbing just a shortsword and handaxe, to not wake the otheres while ruffling through her things. Waking in the middle of her night seems to have little effect on her, as she keeps an eye out for anything outside the camp.
OOC: Trixi and Molle interested in bonding or can we moving on?

OOC: You're in fields of wheat and cereal grain with a road bisecting them. It's farmland as far as the eye can see in ALL directions. The camp has been set 75ft back from the road in a fairy ring of trees. To look for game trails etc... through the area who take away from your watch as you'd be actively looking for them with a survival or investigation check. The wheat and cereal grains need to be processed to use. With the Nat 20 however in your perception check however you are very alert to your surroundings.
Areon can hear even through the storm picking up that the musicians have put away their instruments for the night. The whinning of the horses shifting in the rain and the snoring of your fellows. Looking over at where the mercenaries are sleeping rough you see one of them looking over at you. The storm increases in strength and thunder rumbles after a brilliant flash of lightening!

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Erika, who left the tent holding her hauberk and lamellar and donned both at the campfire, takes a hold of her shield as Areon points out the observer. A faint yellow glow outlines the painted eye on the shield, and seems reflected in her eyes, and she looks to where Areon has pointed. Her axe stays slung across her shoulder opposite the shield, the axehead tapping softly against the metal armor as the wind picks up.
"Is that one of those hired by Zira?"she says softly. "If so, perhaps us watching out for each other is good."

"Good night!" Trixi's shift was in the middle of the night, so she wanted to get a few hours before that too.
