Delmalis gently pushes Twitch out of the way and reaches down to grasp the stake, looking at the others to confirm they're ready. Unless someone objects, he begins to slowly pull out the stake until the vampire shows some reaction, and is ready to push it back in if it appears hostile.
Demalis, as you pull out the stake, the vampire isn't moving. At all. The stake is removed easily and you realize this vampire isn't flesh. There's not even blood or organs, save a few dried remains and no distinct smell. You also see a hole in his left foot.

You see this image of Cyan touching his temple, as if he's thinking. "This vampire ain't no vampire. It's likely he was murdered and his body, or some of it, was turned into a wax figure.
As this is happening, you hear shambling of footsteps from behind you all. As you turn, you see eight figures dressed in faded clothes. Each one has a hole in its left foot. Sybil, you recognize some of the figures as famous Harpers, including what appears to be a younger Mirt standing alongside a ranger you'd recognize as Artus Cimber.
One of them, a wizard dressed in red robes with a pointy hat and a long beard moves toward you. "I see you've brought Vivian to us."
Peeko raises an eyebrow at the wizard. "Elminster?" He sees another pair of Harpers dressed in similar clothes behind him. "Arilyn and Danilo Thann? You're buried in Waterdeep."
Jaina points to a pair of half-elves. "I've read about you in Baldur's Gate. You're Jaheria and Khalid."
He stops and his eyes widen at a one-armed woman in chainmail. "Aunt Myreem? You're supposed to be a ghost? Is this magic"
"Hello nephew," the woman says, pointing the sword toward him. "This isn't magic. We're cursed!"
"Anyone else seeing this?" Sybil whispers as she slips her rod into her hand for safetly and trying to keep distance.

Meep strides forward, hand outstretched. "Cursed? Maybe we can help you? I'm guessing it has something to do with the holes in your feet? Did you step on something? I'm Meep the Magnificent, by the way."
Wax-Elminster shakes his head. "We're not ghosts. We're wax figures and we were once fixtures in Twilight Hall - that is until the Harpers abandoned us and left us in ruins."
"Some have tried to help us and reopen the building," Wax-Mirt adds. "Yet the mayor won't let anyone touch this building."
Roland turns to Vivian, who bites her lip. "Father felt that Twilight Hall belonged to the city since the Harpers left it."
"Father?!" Wax-Myrmeen says. "We should hold her hostage -"
The wax figures continue to move forward until Wax-Elminster holds up his arm. "It's nice to meet you Meep. The holes in your foots are to hold us up in our displays. If you want to help us, you could kill the mayor ... or convince him to let you take Twilight Hall and fix up the place."

I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
Delmalis looks back and forth between the party and the wax figures, "Wait, so what do the wax folk here have to do with vampires? Were they all wax too?"
Wax-Elminster points to the vampire. "Oh, he was a vampire and he made his way into the hall but we took care of him before you came. The vampire spawn are locked away in one of the prisons in this hall. We were going to use the vampire to scare the mayor into giving him the hall and it would belong to us."

Meep looks at the others. "Looks like we have a choice, then. The Mayor may need to answer some questions, but as long as the vampire isn't terrorizing the town, our work here is done, yes?"
Roland nods. "There are still caches of knowledge hidden throughout this place. I longed to see Twilight Hall in my past life and never got the chance. What will we do with them?" He points to the wax figures.

Meep says "I can restrain him in a glob of webbing, but I've heard vampires can turn into mist so that might not work."
Sybil, you recall basic information about vampires.
Roland and Jaina step forward. Roland nods and says," We can always use our power to keep him at bay."
