Liam slammed into the wall after the that strange energy hit him. It stung, but he'd live for now. He felt something pulse within, and he tried to force it back down. It took so much effort that the moment he saw something move when he came back to his senses, he threw the handaxe towards them.

Without checking to see if he hit anything, Liam yanked the rope back, pulling the axe back to his position, and proceeding to pick it up. After collecting himself, he looked in the direction of the earlier attack, and saw Parabolous splashing about in water. He threw the handle at him this time and yanked it back as quickly as he could when it reached Parabolous, again not checking to see if he hit or not. He then climbed over the wall behind himself in order to take cover from any more of the man's attacks.
