[OOC: So now the 5 person party is split THREE ways.]
Sweet Shop (Interior): As Dumasz enters the shop, a half-elf man, dark of hair and eye, you'd say in his thirties, with a slightly off-putting smile, says, "Welcome to the Sweets Shop. We don't see many of your type around here." Looking around there is a long counter with stools, and along the wall, many small bins stocked with candy. The air inside seems colder than it should.
Dumasz starts looking through bins. “Thank you for the warm welcome despite the cool room, what is that by the way?”
”Anyways, I’m here for two things: the first is chocolate. The second is work related. It appears this was one of the last places a person who went missing was seen. What can you tell me about Old Laughing Joe, Derrik the priest, or the young Aleesa?”
Noell doesn't hesitate, knowing fully well how dangerous snakes can be. And a pair of them, and huge ones, at that! Gritting her teeth, she aims with her crossbow and fires at the one closest to Vahorn.
Attack: 19 Damage: 9 (piercing)
Afterwards, she scuttles backwards, gesturing for Lia to do the same. "Soften them up from a distance, then close in and end them if you can! Their bites may be poisonous and you don't want to fend them both off at once!"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Forest's Edge:
The well-placed bolt and arrow make short work of one of the snakes. The other, looking for a possible target sees Lia, still not having time to react and move out out their range. It speeds over to her and strikes!
Attack: 11 Damage: 5
Lia proves to fast for the snake, but now has a chance to retaliate.
"Oh, side effect of my "dairy frost" treat makings. I use magic to rapidly freeze a slurry of cream, milk and flavorings into a delicious treat! Want to try some? As for chocolate, look around I have a lot of choices."
"I'm afraid I have no Idea about any missing people. Aleesa is one of my regulars, sure, but everyone knows she was last seen in the woods near the creepy old hill."

Hayeth giggles to herself watching the large dragonborn be so excited about the sweets she approaches the counter also, smiling and saying
"I'd like a dairy frost as well, how much are they? And is there a way for us to carry it instead of a bowl as I don't think we'll have time to sit down for it"

As Vahorn retrieves his arrows, he inspects the snakes. “Unusual....... for them to come so close to town.....” As he tries to figure out what section of the woods the snakes are from and any reason for them to come so far out he mumbles. “Good work Lia. Unorthodox..... but good.”
"Honestly, the kids never really talk to me about much of substance. I pretty much ignore everything they say. It's all nonsense, I heard one of them talking about seeing a 20 foot long snake swallow a cow. Nonsense!"
"I suppose I could charge a deposit on the dish and spoon and you could return them."
Hayeth please make an Intelligence check, adding cook's utensil's proficiency.

Vahorn keeps a blank expression as best he can, but Noell can see from the twitching of his lip that he is seething. “These snakes are not natives, somebody has introduced them to the ecosystem. They will wreak havoc, soon these woods will not be the same.” He stands, carrying the pair of snakes over to Noell. “This is more than a few foolhardy explorers letting their curiosity get the best of them. Whatever this is...... we need to stop it.” He scratches behind his ear vigorously before concluding. “We should round up the others, follow the tracks.”
“Thanks!” Lia seems a bit surprised at the praise, but genuine in her smile. “Your aim is fantastic. Yours too, Noell.”She nudges the snake with the toe of her boot before Vahorn picks it up. “So, you think there are more of them running around?”

Dumasz holds up a hand a lets out a warbling note, held for a moment, casting prestidigitation to create a small tin cup. “I think I’ve actually got this covered, no dish needed. But thank you for this, and for your time.”

Hayeth nods scratching the side of her head and whispering to herself "Pretty glad I didn't jump on plan B instantly" she looks up to the boys
"Very well, thank you for the help anyway, we'll check there" she stands up and nods in thanks and heads in to join Dumasz saying
"Brrrrr... chilly in here, they were the wrong kids by the way..."

Vahorn is quite perplexed to be honest. The snakes are not of a kind you've ever seen around here before.
