Fun fact about you: I am passionate about psychedelics.
D&D experience: I'm afirst time DM currently running Phandelver for 3 new players. I was a player for some 2E and 3.5E many years ago and have been trying to find a group for a long time. With no DM in sight I decided to take the leap and run a campaign.
Have you played WDH before, if so what villain was used: I have never played WDH.
Backstory: 7th son of 12 of Clan Fireforge, nestled in the Sword Mountains. After serving his time in the Clan militia, Rumbledorf took up the family trade of making tools and weapons and selling them to the local towns. On one journey, Rumbledorf and his brother Boznor were returning from selling their wares in Triboar when they were ambushed by a group of highway men. Boznor locked weapons with the leader (an Orc) and was felled. Rumbledorf tried to get to his brothers side before the killing blow but was too late. In a fury of hate, Rumbledorf swung wildly at the leader and was able to score a strike on the Orc's face that caused the remaining few members of the band to retreat into the woods. After the confirmation that his brother was gone, Rumbledorf collected his weapons noticing the leaders eyeball was still embedded into his axe point, he made vow to Boznor that he will not rest until he has possession of the head that housed this eyeball. Through his travels looking for clues to the whereabouts of this Orc, Rumbledorf has ventured into Waterdeep to restock his provisions and ask the locals a few questions. He decided to take rest at the Yawning Portal.
Fun fact about you: I'm the father of four kids. I didn't let my three sons (19, 17, and 15) get away with anything..... my DAUGHTER (8) has me wrapped around her finger like nobody's business!!
D&D experience: I first played back in the early 90's with a group of buddies for a couple of years. Life took over and I put the dice away but the inner urge to continue playing didn't subside. I feel I'm at a good spot in life where I can attempt to rekindle that fire. I have not yet played a game and the experience I have is from "house rules" with childhood friends so I'm not even sure they were 100% correct!! but I do understand the basics. I'm eager to play and more than willing to learn the minor details if the right group has the patience to show me.
Races and classes:Half-elf, Rogue (intent to Mastermind)
Factions: Zhentarim
Backstory and Why you're in Waterdeep: Thervan was born to poor and shady parents, a human father and elven mother, who’s day to day activities were never quite on the up and up. His father was possibly killed (although never proven) and his mother led a life full of schemes and business dealings that put her, and Thervan, in touch with the seedier side of Waterdeep. Once he reached adulthood he fell into the life himself, but with grand designs to make something of himself. Maybe a powerful businessman, maybe a shadow broker, maybe a guild boss. But something big. I’m the meantime he managed to worm his way into the Zhentarim with the idea that they can provide the contacts he needs to fulfill his dreams. And if he needs to help some others to get things done, so be it.
Note: Although his background will be criminal, and he will have selfish tendencies, I do not play murder-hobos or party sabotaging jerks. He’s just out for himself, but sees the value in establishing contacts and partners and a reputation that others want to work with.
D&D Experience: Extensive actually
Fun Facts: My music playlists include Megadeath, Frozen, Pitch Perfect, and the Beatles.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ability scores: 141613151117
Name: Hrothbert Neruca
Race/Class: Human Paladin
Background: Soldier
Backstory: Betrayed by one in his own company of soldiers the entire cohort was destroyed save Hrothbert. This loss drives him forward with a severe amount of survivors guilt that has made him slow to make any friends.
Fun fact about you: The toes next to the Big toe on both my feet are fused together since birth.
D&D experience: Very new, only just started a PBP Campaign with a halfling alt, Roskin Hearthstrider
Have you played WDH before, if so what villain was used: As the last question implies no I haven't but I am reading up on the history of Waterdeep to get at least a basic understanding of the world this is set in.
Will fill the details tomorrow (~10hours), but the general idea would be Human or half elf noble, good alignment. Wanna make him a duelist style with rapier, so most likely rogue/swashbuckler.
Thank you for all the great characters. It was real though to narrow it down but I have found my pair. Hopefully once this campaign is done I'll be running another so until then
