"Just found a new entrance into the tunnels below." Nasaar says to the barkeep as he passes over the two coppers. "Commander is sending a crew down to block it off it seems. Has there been any other news going around of late?" He sips his ale as he listens to any response.
"Agreed." Nasaar says with a nod and a bigger swig of ale. "Figure they will all come together, one way or the other, once the fighting starts." he says though, as he sets down the mug again. "Enemy of my enemy and all that, don't you think?"
Gruntor takes a seat next to Nassar and also orders an ale. "We was with somes others...Theys said the same things about the legions." He will turn to Nasar. "Heys, wasnt us supposed to do sometin for dat? Makes em friendsie?
"What sort of issues?" Nasaar asks with a frown. "And which outposts? We could likely take a look into it, if the rest of my companions are up for it."
Staying at the Quartermaster, Serit negotiates, "Hmm, a tempting offer but let me just say, the creatures were persistent and dangerous. I will accept 390 with a ration restock."
Nasaar, you remember that the main fortress also mentionned about ogre migration harassing the outposts in the lower hills. You intervened in a fight between ogres and one of the distant patrols on the way to the fortress.
"Is that a lot of gold?", the firbolg will ask one of the others, not having had much experience in a non-bartering system.
He'll thank the quartermaster, and offer him a goodberry before they depart.

Nasaar:
The taverns offer a typical selection of drinks and comforts, if you want to buy anything.
Fiebolg:
The quartermaster accepts the berry with a nod, though he looks somewhat puzzled at your lack of knowlgde of money.
"I'll take an ale." Nasaar says as he takes a seat at the bar. He pulls out his money pouch, laying the price for the drink on the counter.
The tavernkeep says:
"two coppers"
You can see the tavern is moderately busy. Soldiers who go in leave their weapons at the entrance and gather around the tables at the tavern.
"Just found a new entrance into the tunnels below." Nasaar says to the barkeep as he passes over the two coppers. "Commander is sending a crew down to block it off it seems. Has there been any other news going around of late?" He sips his ale as he listens to any response.
"So I have heard", the barkeep replies. "People are now talking of a big war coming. I can only wonder how united the rest of the legion is."
"Agreed." Nasaar says with a nod and a bigger swig of ale. "Figure they will all come together, one way or the other, once the fighting starts." he says though, as he sets down the mug again. "Enemy of my enemy and all that, don't you think?"

The tavernkeep replies "Yes, one would hope the legion will stand as one. But until they realise that war is upon them, local rivalries will fester."
He looks at Gruntor:
"Speaking of, there were some ouposts a couple of days from here who had issues with ogre migrations".

Serit: roll persuasion.
Persuasion: 9
I'll allow someone helping to roll themsleves to see if it's a higher roll.
"Yes, that sounds like a better number."

The quartermaster agrees to the new price.
"You drive a hard bargain... but fine, you have a point"
With a nod to the quartermaster and Firebolg Serit accepts the coins and rations.
(I would say a few days of rational per character?)
Nasaar shrugs as he takes another drink of ale. (Yep I remembered both of those items already, but thanks for the reminder.)
1 week worth of basic rations for the party
How do you proceed?
