One of the players in our party is a warforged, and our DM allows us to use healing potions on the warforged but that is our only method of healing him. Are there any spells, or magical effects that I am unaware of that can help our warforged? We're all at level 1, nearing 2 by the way and I'm playing a sorcerer if that helps. Resting is an obvious method of healing, but we're in the middle of Saltmarsh right now and can't rest without being attacked by whatever is inside the house lol.
Thanks!

Hey!! I've played DND for maybe two to three years or so, so I'm still pretty new and only know the basics and such. I love SIlvery Barbs, and I'm always up to chat if you want :)
Any normal method of healing works on warforged. From Eberron: Rising from the Last War:
Although they were manufactured, warforged are living humanoids. Resting, healing magic, and the Medicine skill all provide the same benefits to warforged that they do to other humanoids.
Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny. Go to the current Competition of the Finest 'Brews! It's a cool place where cool people make cool things.

Warforged are Humanoids, not constructs, so they benefit from all of the ways of restoring hitpoints that other humanoids can benefit from. That includes healing spells, spending hit dice, drinking potions, etc.
Autognomes are actually Constructs, but they have a feature that allows them to be healed by several healing spells, but they can also regain hit points from the Mending Cantrip, or from the healing ability of the steel defender created by the Battle Smith Artificer.

Either your DM doesn't know this, or they want to make the game harder for this character. It might be good to ask what the DM has in mind with that ruling.
Older versions of the game had more restrictions on Warforged, in exchange for much better racial abilities. It might be that your DM played those previous versions.
From a rules perspective, as mentioned, Warforged are humanoids (not constructs) so anything that affects a humanoid, like healing spells, also affects a Warforged.
From a lore perspective, Eberron: Rising from the Last War, describes them this way:
"Living Steel and Stone
Warforged are formed from a blend of organic and inorganic materials. Root-like cords infused with alchemical fluids serve as their muscles, wrapped around a framework of steel, darkwood, or stone. Armored plates form a protective outer shell and reinforce joints. Warforged share a common facial design, with a hinged jaw and crystal eyes embedded beneath a reinforced brow ridge. Beyond these common elements of warforged design, the precise materials and build of a warforged vary based on the purpose for which it was designed.

Ohhh and I thought Warforged are constructs and hence they could be healed via mending cantrip lol my mistake

While just ... healing works, I feel it should certainly be refluffed. Anyone who heals a warforged without a wrench and a hammer is just doing a hack job of it.

Blanket disclaimer: I only ever state opinion. But I can sound terribly dogmatic - so if you feel I'm trying to tell you what to think, I'm really not, I swear. I'm telling you what I think, that's all.
I have a similar question, what skill does one use to stabilize a warforged at zero hp? If one needed to make a check to heal them say with some kind of kit would it be a med kit or a tinkerers kit? A medicine check? Arcana? Sleight of hand?

Medicine. In all things, it is exactly the same as a human. If it works on a human, it works on a warforged. If something works on constructs, but not humans, it doesn't work at all on warforged.

Autognomes are constructs, so you can use Mending to restore their health.
(Though you can also use a number of healing spells on them as well due to a racial feature.)
