As the title states, I'm wondering if there are builds for racial natural attacks. I know in older editions of DnD (or maybe I'm thinking Pathfinder 1e) there was a Tabaxi Monk class. Couldn't find info for it for 5e, so was wondering if there were any options? I also was wondering if I could do something more bulky then a monk. Was thinkibg Barbarian or Bloodhunter for the scaling Str bonuses.
I don't own Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse, but if I'm not wrong, some races/species in that book have traits that let you use parts of your body as unarmed strikes.
One example is the Tabaxi (I'm borrowing the following text from another thread :D)

Cat’s Claws
You can use your claws to make unarmed strikes. When you hit with them, the strike deals 1d6 + your Strength modifier slashing damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
There are quite a few species with features like that in both that book and some others — they're all basically the same thing, increasing the base damage from 1 to 1d6 and in some cases changing the damage type to either slashing or piercing.
There's also the Dhampir from Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft, which have a Vampiric Bite ability that has some additional benefits. It's not super clear whether it works with Monk features though, since it's defined as a "melee weapon attack". And because it uses Constitution as its attack ability, it doesn't work with some of the Barbarian's core features either.
Game Statistics. Your game statistics are replaced by the Beast’s stat block, but you retain your creature type; Hit Points; Hit Point Dice; Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores; class features; languages; and feats. You also retain your skill and saving throw proficiencies and use your Proficiency Bonus for them, in addition to gaining the proficiencies of the creature. If a skill or saving throw modifier in the Beast’s stat block is higher than yours, use the one in the stat block.

pronouns: he/she/they
I miss read the Tabaxi Claw part obviously so that answers alot of my questions. I will have to look at some unarmed fighting builds now. Thank you!
It DOES stack with a Moon Circle Druid though! 😉😉
You don't keep your species features while in Wild Shape.

wagnarokkr missed this emoji at the end of that sentence: 😢
But I agree. RAW that reply is totally right 😉 Some consequences were mentioned in previous threads:
- Can druids no longer use their racial abilities in wild shape - Druid
- Druid Wild Shape and Species Traits - Rules & Game Mechanics
Ah really? I thought as long as the racial ability was something doable by the wild shape it carried over?
From the 2024 PHB. Only features and feats:
Thats good too know as well.
