The main "gods" in my world are the Triumvirate. Unlike other gods, they notably have only a single artifact, and have never been recorded communing with followers (with the notable exception of Primus Loghain's first and only meeting).
The Triumvirate have long past surpassed being "gods". In the previous world, they were three great witches of unrivaled power, and essentially they killed every single living thing in the world (took them thousands upon thousands of years) to fuel a ritual that would not only shield them from the cessation of existence, but also "write" them into the next world as fundamental pillars of reality. They succeeded, and then they destroyed the world.
They outstrip everything else in existence in age and power. They are constants: they don't "just" personify concepts, they practically "are" said concepts. The first king (Apollyon) is destruction and entropy itself. The second king (Absalom) is the natural order and the laws that govern the world (e.g. gravity). The third king (Alerion) is everything else. Although they don't require worship, it has naturally sprung up all over the planes (the planes themselves being an aspect of Alerion).
