I finished running ToH last weekend with my group, but two of my players were unable to make it. Normally when this happens I simply have one of the other players command their character for them during the game that they are out. But this is Tomb of Horrors, so I didn't want to risk having them die while they weren't even playing.
Instead I decided that they got sucked through one of the misty portals in the dungeon and transported somewhere else. Throughout the next month I will be running them through a side quest to earn XP and to explain why they where they gone.
Does anyone have any suggestions for adventures or dungeon crawls that might be appropriate for this side quest? I have the 4E ToH module, and was considering using this... but I wanted to see what other things were out there that people thought were good. Not looking for anything too involved (unless I can take something specific out of it away from the overarching module).
Anything on the DM's Guild that is slightly deadly?
Every time they redo it, it's less deadly than the last time, defeating the entire point of the dungeon. This is not a dungeon that you're meant to have the same character at the end that you entered with. It's just not ToH if that's the case. Well, unless you're always sending everyone else ahead of you...

Hello!
I finished running ToH last weekend with my group, but two of my players were unable to make it. Normally when this happens I simply have one of the other players command their character for them during the game that they are out. THANKS!
