I’ve been watching movies in the Predator franchise and realized that the 3rd movie, Predators, is a great set up for a one shot.
Warriors from all over the world wake up falling from the sky into a jungle to be hunted for sport by the Predators. They must work together to find ways to survive, kill the creatures and get home. Players could use literally any sort of build and it would work !
the only thing I don’t know, What kinds of creatures should I use for the Predators? What is a suitable threat?
Maybe not what you had in mind, but Slaadi could work really well. There’s several varieties so you can ramp up the threat and keep things fresh over several encounters, and they’ve got a good blend of melee and magic attacks that feel comparable to the Predators.
You could use the tadpoles as a little jump scare like the Alien/AVP movies, or put them in your players so there’s a ticking clock to escape and find a cure.
The idea of Slaadi being chaotic works well too—there’s no grand design here, it’s just fun for them to whisk you off to another planet and hunt you.
I would recommend having a creature with the ability to change the terrain in a fun and interesting way. What this creature's statblock would be would heavily depend on the level of the characters, but could range from elementals to bullettes to even tricky fey creatures. This would allow for both a combat and environmental challenge. Good luck, hope you guys have fun!
The yautja - which to me seems like a racial name they themselves would be able to pronounce. I'd stay away from trying to be fancy, and build them on lizard folk. With a substantial upgrade, perhaps, but still: Just lizard folk.
I'd also do away with all the sci-fi nonsense: For a fantasy game, this would be pre-spaceflight to me. They'd hunt with traps, nets, spears (or harpoons) - poison. I'd give them natural stealth like a chameleon (which would just boil down to advantage on stealth and the ability to hide in plain sight in jungle terrain).
Yea, I think that's it: Stealth, a swim speed, a climb speed (they're like geckos), primitive but effective tools. And better stats. Give them the Mobile feat from BG3 (which gives 150% jump distance).

Blanket disclaimer: I only ever state opinion. But I can sound terribly dogmatic - so if you feel I'm trying to tell you what to think, I'm really not, I swear. I'm telling you what I think, that's all.
Another way you could go is to make them Thri-Kreen. That race has the ability to camouflage themselves by changing the color of their carapace. They are also a nomadic, tribal species of primarily hunters. Might fit the theme pretty well.

Abashi is another with a whole bunch of variants with different abilites.

If you wanted to do higher level, you could slightly alter and reflavor death knights.
