Hello I would like peoples opinions on allowing someone to do fancy weapon maneuvers but using their action to cast a spell right after to give the appearance of the weapon causing the effect of the spell. For example someone wielding the Great Sword at distance with the warcaster feat doing 3 diagonal slashes and on the third slash cast fire ball and have it cast in the middle of the down stroke like the fireball was created by the sword slash. Or any other ranged spell with similar theatrics just to spice up RP in combat.
I think that would be totally fine, especially if you're combining it with the Warcaster feat. I would say that the player should have to make a Deception roll if they're trying to convince the enemy that the weapon is the actual source of the magic, but if it's just for flavor and theatrics then it should all be fine.
I’d definitely give a character who did that a bonus of some sort if they did that and made a successful performance or deception check. Maybe everyone who saw it and who failed their save against the spell would be frightened until the end of their next turn or something minor like that.
Those are some good ideas. I'm currently building a Hexblade Shadow Sorc for when we finish Phandelver and switch to the mad mage. im planning on taking the war caster feat so i can wield a great sword as my pact weapon and still use magic. I was thinking of ways to make combat very theatric by doing different theatrical sword maneuvers and casting my ranged damage spells.
Pathfinder had a feat called Dazzling Display. "While wielding the weapon in which you have Weapon Focus, you can perform a bewildering show of prowess as a full-round action. Make an intimidate check to demoralize all foes within 30 feet who can see your display." So basically you took your whole round (no moving, no other action, no bonus action) and do this wild Conan-like display of how awesome you are with your weapon of choice and it counts as an intimidation check against everyone within 30 feet who can see you. Anyone who fails becomes shaken, which is somewhat similar to the [Tooltip Not Found] condition for lack of a better comparison.
Or you could build a DEX-based Eldritch Knight. They get to cantrip attack+weapon attack and at later levels can teleport as well. Use Prestidigitation or Dancing Lights to accentuate your showmanship.
Yea im currently playing an E.Knight but im looking for something with more spellcasting over melee but could still hold their own if ran up on. Plus with this character im going to run more field control spells to impose different disadvantages while still dealing out damage. Im just trying to find ways to spice up gameplay. Im not to good RPing social encounters but im really good at describing my characters actiond on how he moves about

You don't necessarily need war caster for that. Just grab the "improved pact weapon" invocation and whatever pact weapon you summon can be your arcane focus. You just need to be pact of the blade.
That said, war caster is a great feat for, well, any spell caster.

That sounds very interesting in deed. To bad my DM wouldnt allow me to homebrew a feat like that and use it.

TexasDevin and then Indiana Jones just shoots you with a gun and kills you outright, lol
You could go all out and play a Paladin/Wild Magic Sorcerer. That'll really surprise them!
I guess Indy made his save
"Not all those who wander are lost"
Cast spell and nat 1s for wild table casting fireball instead of heals lol.

I'd allow it, but only if you required all spell casters to do this whenever they cast a ritual....and have the player do it IRL with IRL maracas.
