after reading the UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS sorcadin guide I absolutely had to try this build. Starting last night I played my Aasimar Paladin with plans to multiclass into sorcerer. I am absolutely loving it but I am dithering about what to do next. At the moment we are level 1 and my stats (using point buy) are as follows: 16,8,14,10,10,16. I was planning to multi class at level 2, take 6 sorcerer levels then back to paladin for 4 levels, then sorcerer all the way. The build is focused around light/lightning and I was going to take Booming Blade/Green Flame Blade to make up for no extra attack. Now I am wondering if I am missing something by not getting my ASI and delaying aura of protection, as I am focusing mainly on tanking as well as healing. I am also unsure as to what subclasses to pick. At the moment I am leaning towards divine soul and vengeance but I don't think divine soul offers much that paladin doesn't already get. The party composition is a human chronologist wizard, a Dragonborn ranger, a human wild magic sorcerer (so no wild magic for me;) and a Tiefling fiend warlock.
I need some constructive advice on this build from people who know more about dnd than myself :)
thanks in advance.

Personally, I wouldn't take sorcerer. Your party is very squishy apart from you and the ranger. Dropping you hp almost in half is not a good idea. At most I would take 3 levels of either storm sorcerer or divine soul. Maybe even draconic bloodline. However, your dex is awful. Maybe take the ASI from pally to get dex to 10, cause at the moment you don't have heavy armour proficiency, meaning you aren't the toughest tank. Here to help.

1. I do have heavy armour proficiency, as I am a paladin and I have prof in all armour and shields.
2. I believe sorcadins are tankier than paladins as their ac is miles better and aura of protection is amazing, add in spells like mirror image, greater invisible and spirit guardians then I have a very strong tank.
3. although I appreciate your advice very much, my whole build revolves around the sorcadin idea and I will ask any further comments to help me with my build not suggest others
thanks anyway tho

Consider something like Minor Illusion or Move Earth as a cantrip to help divert enemies towards you, particularly if the others don't have them. Both are helpful in different circumstances so having both in the party would be ideal.
If you're build has room for it, consider taking Oath of the Ancients to Paladin 7 for Aura of Warding. Getting Ensnaring Strike can help with tanking and Misty Step can help with positioning.
Vengeance does get Misty Step and Hold Person at 5 and Relentless Avenger at 7 gives extra mobility for emergency repositioning.
Redemption and Devotion can also be very tanky themed.
As for the Sorcerer levels, I'd concur that Divine Soul or Storm Sorcery are probably the way to go. I'd lean Divine Soul. The only real overlap with Paladin is the spell list. You get an extra Cleric spell based on your alignment, which means you don't need to prepare that one. Any of the other spells that overlap can be prepared via Paladin when you have the appropriate levels of Paladin. This will give you many more spells as a sorcerer than you'd normally have and reduce the strain that your limited number of sorcerer spells known will cause.

I thought Paladins were like barbs for proficiency. In that case, the concept sounds good.
