With how they shfted to prepared spellcasting with the bard and unified spell lists, it could be that the sorcerer could as well be the class left out. Because I kinda don't see how it would be different from wizard. But what's the point in guessing, let's just wait a couple of days and see.
Jeremy Crawford says that the monks will be in another UA. He doesn't say it like that, but it's easy to infer that it is. If not, why would we see the new weapon system applied to monks in another UA? The easiest answer is because the monks will appear in that other UA.
Listening to it again JC does say we will see in this UA fighters and barbarians when talking about weapon mastery around 2 minutes in with monks and others delving into weapon mastery in future UA’s. So I am assuming monks are not here. But we should find out soon
I'm starting to see a number of other sources (e.g. non-english gaming sites) saying Monk will be the one to get delayed. Disappointing but it is what it is.
its possibly because monks quite often go unarmed due to doing same or more damage by level 5 or 11 to weapons so weapon mastery will be extremely limited in those cases

It's quite the contrary. A quarterstaff is superior to unarmed fighting until level 11. After that literally any magic weapon that qualifies for monk weapon is better than fists, because fists can't be +1. A monk in DnD should never fight unarmed. That's how it is designed. Badly, if you ask me.
I pretty much hate it, too. IMNSHO, it wasn't a class that needed very much tinkering. A lot of this feels like change for change's sake rather than improving the class.

Yeah, they felt compelled to change it to be more like the other classes, rather than its own unique thing. As the meme goes, "Thanks, I hate it"

I haven't gone through the UA all the way, just on page 8, but I did listen to the video on my way home from work. I don't particularly like the half caster approach, wish they would have bumped up the number of slots, but kept Pact Magic like it is. But I do kind of like the cantrip Book of Shadows. Gives some utility to the Warlock. Not sure what they did with the invocation for Tome, though. Will keep reading, but as far as page 1-7 working on 8 I'm not too upset. Guess we will see as I go.
And I like class exclusive spells and that they seem to be adding that to the Expert and Priest classes as well.

seems it dropped
Welp... I think I hate the new Warlock, but I see why they didn't include the Artificer since Warlock is now the Arcane half-caster...
