So the new UA drop has Rogues with "Weapons: Simple Weapons, Martial Weapons that have the Finesse Property" as opposed to the current version "Weapons: Simple weapons, hand crossbows, longswords, rapiers, shortswords" So we lose one of the most rogue/assassin-y weapons. We also lose longswords (ok) and gain scimitars and whips. I honestly didn't know we didn't have them.
Why? So now there are no ranged martial weapons the rogue gets.

Yeah, that's pretty lame. I've been a long-time advocate for giving Rogues proficiency with Ring Shooters myself. A lot of other people would prefer to give them proficiency with the Bouquet Tosser, but when you run the statistics it's got a really low DPR and doesn't work very well with the Rogue's features, so it would just serve to be a trap option for players who are new to the game.
Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny. Go to the current Competition of the Finest 'Brews! It's a cool place where cool people make cool things.

I hope but they are avoiding the class specific weapons and spells. Right now rogues are the only ones that have a caveat that I know of, might have missed something.
crossbow expert is probably why. It makes the hand crossbow the no brainier option.
but the new CBE aint all that.
i ahve brought it up in two of the feedbacks so far... i fear they are nerfing rouge range option
It was designed when light weapons gave a off hand attack without a bonus action which it was and whether ranged or melee light gave the extra attack. Assuming no changes it still means, +1 dex, firing in melee, no loading property and you use your dex for damage as well. Add in nick and its not even a bonus action to attack with it. Since you can attack in melee with it, and it does the same damage as a short sword why would any rogue use dual short swords when dual crossbows does the same damage and can be used at range or melee.
i am losing hope that rogues will get the hand crossbow... they would have to add the finesse property to the hand crossbow or say that all ranged weapons have the finesse property or something... or add it by hand to the rogue list.

Possible oversight. Just make sure you mention that when the survey goes live.
