So my biggest complaint about the Primal Spell List is that Druids have lost a lot of spells that they've always had access to, including but not limited to: Charm Person, Blight, Geas, Plane Shift.
Will there still be an option to continue using the current Druid spell list that contains these spells? I'd also like to point out that in Forgotten Realms lore, Druids in the Emerald Enclave have to be able to cast Plane Shift because some of the Enclave's work takes place on other planes. It just seems pointless to be removing these spells.
I don't think there's any real reason that Druids and Rangers need charm person, geas, or even really plane shift. Trimming the fat is a good thing.

Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny. Go to the current Competition of the Finest 'Brews! It's a cool place where cool people make cool things.

Plane shift has a reason, the Elemental planes.
Fair enough.

I explained about the Emerald Enclave lore and why they need Plane Shift. Geas comes straight from Celtic mythology, same as druids. Blight is a good offensive spell and draws on the decaying power of nature, some druids embrace the powers of death and decay, there's no reason why Blight shouldn't be a primal spell. As for Charm Person, druids have been able to cast it since at least 3rd edition if not before, but i don't care about that one as much as the others.

I agree on blight and plane shift, disagree on the others. I don't really care what geas was inspired by, I just care that it doesn't really match the modern Druid. I also don't care how long a spell has been had by a class. When you're setting out to change a game, it seems silly to not touch things just because you didn't touch them the last few times you changed the game. You also have to understand that charm person and geas would be given to Rangers as well, so it's not just the identity of the Druid we're talking about here.

Charm Person and Geas make perfect sense for druids. They are abilities thematically linked with stories of nature spirits who'd bewitch people and lure them into the wilds. Fey creatures who'd become the inspiration for DnD's Feywilds, which themselves are heavily connected to the Druid class by way of the Feywilds being a domain of unrestrained natural beauty. Druids summon fey through their connection to the Feywild, so why is it odd that they possess a few fey abilities themselves?
For discussion purposes, these are all of the spells I could find that were on the Druid list in the 2014 PHB that are not on the Primal spell list:
Charm Person
Hold Person
Blight
Confusion
Hallucinatory Terrain
Contagion
Geas
Planar Binding
Heroes’ Feast
Mirage Arcane
Plane Shift
Antipathy/Sympathy
Feeblemind
Foresight
Meanwhile, these are the spells on the Primal spell list that were not Druid spells in the 2014 PHB: (Most of these spells were on the Ranger list in the 2014 PHB.)
I dont know if Im in the minority with this, but I feel like exchanging class spells lists in favor of generic spell lists has been a negative. It makes it so that any spell unique to a class has to be given as a class feature, and also generally makes it more difficult to make wider difference between two arcane/nature themed spell casters.

Each of the three spell lists for One D&D is missing spells compared to 5E. UA Playtest says the current spell lists are partials.
