Here's my question about the Rune Knight's Cloud Rune. The language of the Rune says:
"In addition, when you or a creature you can see within 30 feet of you is hit by an attack roll, you can use your reaction to invoke the rune and choose a different creature within 30 feet of you, other than the attacker."
I realize that casting a spell uses the "Cast a spell" action, rather than the "Attack" action. But, many offensive spells use the language "make a spell attack" so does this mean that a spell using this language is a legal trigger to use the Cloud Rune? The caster is making a "spell attack" and there is a "To Hit" role for that attack. The language seems ambiguous and unclear to me.
Just to put a finer point on the above, If you have to roll to hit, it’s an attack, if the enemy makes a save, it’s not an attack. Or if there’s no roll, it’s not an attack. So firebolt, for example, is an attack. Fireball and magic missile are not considered attack, since the caster does not make a to-hit roll.

As long as its hit by an attack you can trigger.
