Just started playing a Rune Knight and the DM set the starting level at 7. Got a couple of features I could do with clarification on.
With Giant's Might, does your reach increase? I've gone with Great Weapon Fighting for my fighting style and I'm using a Glaive with gives me a 10ft reach normally, when I use Giant's Might and go large does my reach increase to 15ft or does it stay at 10ft?
With Runic Shield its says when a creature is hit by an attack roll but does not specify to the type of roll, so does this apply to spells that make attack rolls?
In general, powers only do what they say. It doesn’t say your reach increases, so Your reach does not increase. Still, you are now a 2x2 square, and your 10’ extends out in all directions from a bigger base. So it might feel like your reach increases.
Yes, a spell with an attack roll is still an attack, so it would apply. But you need to take that very literally. For a few examples, Fire bolt uses an attack roll, so it is an attack. Magic missile has no roll, so it doesn’t count as an attack. Fireball requires a saving throw, so it doesn’t count as an attack. Only when the caster is rolling to hit does it count as an attack.
