starting new campaign @ 1st lvl using point buy part of a large group 8+ players no duplicate classes my role will most likely be to tank
Human Variant 16 str, 10 dex, 16 con, 10 int, 13 wis, 8 chr chaotic good (... sigh 1st time in awhile not being evil.... see how long till my alignment changes)
prodigy feat to get double proficiency in athletics (+7 bonus to shove @ lvl1 lol)
defensive style(dueling was my other choice but opted for the AC bonus due to large party most of which will be ranged/casters) and intending to go cavalier archetype
shield mastery @lvl4 (knocking enemies prone and attacks with advantage; I imagine it being a shield with a blade along the bottom kinda like a guillotine. knock em prone and then shield stomp them) thought about switching shield mastery and prodigy but went prodigy as bonus feat for background/storyline reasons
resilient for wis saves and bringing wisdom to 14 @lvl6 thinking this will help or would it be better to take at later ASI? otherwise taking +2 STR
+2 STR @8th lvl... unless convinced otherwise
I am open to getting feats @ ASI vs maxing out stats for the pure enjoyment of immersing myself into the game... I do not need to be overpowering just need to be overconfident
AS someone who has taken a Champion with Shield Master, one thing to be aware of when you start shoving your opponent prone it puts all your casters at disadvantage for ranged targeting....Having said that I would go strength at 6th and 8th. With the prodigy athletics you will be the Judo master knocking your opponents to the ground regularly.
