I made this subclass for the setting I DM, and it's balanced accordingly, but I'd love to see other opinions on it. I know it's a bit wordy, adding a companion always gets a bit complex.
The premise is that you're a fairy that rides a faerie dragon. The person playing this wanted their fairy to be size Tiny and to ride a Faerie Dragon (Older), so this is how I balanced it:
AoE and range calculations still treat you as Small
Faerie dragon speed is halved when you're riding it (60 foot fly speed at level 3? No thanks)
Faerie dragon is restricted at the start, and gains more of its stat block as you level up (spells, abilities)
Typical mount rules apply, and if you want to use a faerie dragon spell or action ability, you have to use your action to direct it
I noticed that it multiclasses very well with the swashbuckler rogue, allowing you to dive in and out of combat without opportunity attacks, and both subclasses benefitting from Charisma.
Thanks! I was a bit unsure in some of the features, since it does overlap with the mounted combatant feat a bit, but that feat is made much worse by having a size Tiny mount.

This, to me, sounds like a great subclass for anyone who wants to be a fairy. Great work.
