Just wants some advice: I have a high elf fighter/eldritch knight that has just gone lvl 4 and I'm tossing up whether to go attribute score points or a feat. Was thinking both points into dex which would get my AC to 19 or go with magic initiate and get a few healing spells and cantrips for the cleric spell list since more groups i run in don't have a healer.
Doesn't count against your spell slots. The Ring of Spell Storing can generally hold 5 levels of spells, I just store 5 first level spells for utility.

Perpetually annoyed that Eldritch Knights can't use Eldritch Blast, Eldritch Smite, and Eldritch Sight.
Using a spell stored in the ring doesn't count as using a spell slot, but putting a spell into the ring does. What this means is that by taking Magic Initiate for Healing Word it would take you 5 days to load all 5 spell slots. But, as anyone can cast a spell into the ring for you, you could always ask your party's Cleric/Bard to use their spell slots to cast Healing Word into the ring. You could also load a few Shield spells into it instead.
The ring of spell storing is a really cool item, but it is best recharged on a non-adventuring day or if any spellcaster has low level spell slots left over.
If you want some advice on whether to take a feat or stat boost then I would recommend posting your ability scores and fighting style (or just generate a link to the character if its on the site).
I would guess from the AC you quoted that you currently wear studded leather (AC12) with a Dex of 18 (+4) and a shield (+2) for a current AC of 18. Boosting Dex to 20 would give you an AC of 19 (as stated) and increase your attack and damage bonuses by 1, however, Dex 18 at level 4 is fine and if you are doing sword and shield then you may want to take War Caster to be able to cast spells with both hands occupied.
With the odd intelligence stat I would be tempted to go with Elven accuracy.....This is very nice and later with greater invisibility you will be able to get advantage on many encounters.

Peoples thought?
I'm a fan of Magic Initiate, either Bard or Cleric depending on your attributes, for Healing Word.
Then if you can get a Ring of Spell Storing and load it with 5 Healing Word spells you are rocking your Eldritch Knight.

Awesome! Thanks for the input!
So does using a spell stored in the ring count as using a spell slot? Of would it be like using a spell scroll?

Cool I'll have to keep an eye out for it then.
Thanks
Can you have multiples of the same spell in it?
