My current character is a 10th level Goliath Fighter - Eldritch Knight. His name is Karkoon, Daywatcher. He's got a couple of nice magic items that aid him in battle. :)
Fighters are my favorite to play. I am in 2 campaigns right now. One is with my lvl 2 half elf. Ivy Ironshield. She is using a long sword or long bow. She will be going the way of the Battle Master. My other is a 3rd lvl Vyk'Artathi. Old race. She is a Battle Master also with a long sword and bow.
I've had a lot of fun with a Dueling Finesse-weapon Drow Champion, not unlike the Rogue/Swashbuckler, only less sneaking, more HP and a shield. With the Defensive Duelist feat, naturally.
A bulkier breed of duelist with an arrogant streak.
Hi, I'm coming back to DnD after a 10-12 year hiatus.
My current character is a 6th Level Human Fighter, following the Champion archetype. Unfortunately the roll to create gave him not much strength, but have a good dexterity (leveling up strength when I can) relying on making good rolls to attach with Swords, with the long bow am fairly proficient. :)
It's also been interesting to play as a noble (Knight) background instead of say, a military back ground.

Odo Proudfoot - Lvl 10 Halfling Monk - Princes of the Apocalypse (Campaign Finished)
I have come back to gaming after a very long hiatus. 5th edition has been great, everything that I hope D&D could be. Currently in the Storm Giant campaign playing a Fighter who took the Eldritch Knight path. I am having so much fun as a fighter who can cast spells. Currently siting at 6th level and about to hit the next level in the story. Character name is Theramon who was in the military as a Quartermaster. As such I seem to be in charge of the party treasure, group items and the chronicler.
WotC, you have really hit it out of the park with this edition. The extensive play-testing was exactly what was needed to bring D&D back to the forefront. Keep up the good work and we will continue playing.
Eldritch Knight, Sandoval. Level 6. Currently campaigning up and down the Sword Coast with a mighty group of heroes. Can't wait to hear about everyone's ideas about different builds and combo's and all that. As well as backstory and future plans!
Current setup: Great weapon master, main weapon is a halberd. Polearm master and war caster feats. I have a sword and board for when my party needs me to take hits, and two hand axes I fiercely whip at my foes when they are too cowardly to come near. Just got decked out in full plate too. Spells are; booming blade/green-flame blade, level 1s are absorb elements, earth tremor, find familiar, and shield of course.
5e was my first time playing a straight fighter (been playing since 2e). I went as a bow using eldritch knight, so i guess i wasn't typical, but it was alot of fun. 5e made me really want to try fighter out more than any other edition so far.
I'm playing Vrakzire Saerg, a Void Dragonborn Battlemaster 7 / Hexblade 1.
Firstly to clarify, I started as a Bronze Dragonborn, but an ingame event turned me into void dragonborn. Basically homebrew-stuff, resistance to psychic damage and psychic breath weapon. Secondly, my Patron for Hexblade is actually my weapon, "Caliburn", a semi-sentient as of now, evolving longsword.

Hello all,
Looking forward to discussing fighters with you all.
My main is Thorgar Forgeborn, a mountain Dwarf. A 7th level Fighter/Eldritch Knight.
Nice.
I can't speak for the unearthed arcana ones, but Eldritch knight is very versatile, I like it.
Good to see the beta progressing!

Obfuscatory and Abstruse Nomenclature
I'm about to make a Fighter wielding a halberd. Not sure his last name but the fighter's name will be Ghriff. Hope We can help each other out.
