I am wondering if I should multiclass into a 1st level into Cleric and take the Nature Domain or 2 levels of Druid for circle of the Shepard or not multiclass.
1. We are playing in Theros. I am a Nyxborn Goblin brought into existence by the Huntress Nylea. My Piety with her is level 3. This gives me Hunters mark once per long rest as a bonus action.
2. My Dex is already 20 and my Wis 14.
3. I'm level 5 now and already took Crossbow expert and at 6 I'm taking sharpshooter so if I multiclass it would be at 7.
4.I'm looking at the Nature Cleric and Circle of the Shepard because from a role playing perspective this makes a lot of sense. My character prefers to live isolated in the woods and doesn't take kindly to city folk and to hunters killing needlessly. He's also a bit of a Robin Hood. Raiding the rich and giving back to the needy in a small town. Being able to use my reaction to give 1 ally advantage once per turn seems strong and a good use of my reaction since I don't use it often. hence the 2 levels in Druid. The spells and cantrips for the cleric are really good and could offer me some nice diversity in and out of combat. Plus only dipping one level in Cleric is nice. I like the idea of having bless to help mitigate sharpshooter and help my allies. Both offer some healing and utility. Both of them fit my characters background and devotion to Nylea. I think the Circle of the Shepard fits it perfectly where the nature cleric is just a really good fit.
Anyway, any and all thoughts on this would be appreciated. Oh I took the criminal background (spent a year in a city as a thief) so I have rogue proficiencies and abilities.
How high does your campaign plan on going? I ask as a 1-2 level dip might push a class feature back that might want or put it out of reach altogether. If you’re going to 20 the only thing you loose is the 4th attack which is nice, but it is 20th level and most don’t make it that far. Or you might miss out on a maneuver or superiority die increase so take that into consideration.
But It seems like you are really interested in doing the MC so I don’t see why not.
Thanks for replying. After giving it a lot of thought I've decided to take magic initiate at level 8 assuming my character is still alive. It will give me the flavor I'm looking for. I really don't need any more stat increases.
What about 3-4 level dip into Gloomstalker Ranger? Helps build up the hunter vibe quite a bit, which should please Nylea. You can use the fighting style to pick up Druidic Warrior and get some of the cantrips you're looking for. Dread Ambusher and Hunter's Mark add a lot to your archery game. You can even gain an expertise for your preferred hunting skill. Survival, Perception and Stealth all seem like fitting picks.
I already have hunters mark. Gloom stalker ranger seems cool. My brother plays one in AL. I have time to consider all options. My biggest reasons for looking at cleric was just 1 level dip. Druid just 2. 3 or 4 levels in Ranger seems like a lot. I'm also wanting bless. It helps me with sharpshooter and my allies. I don't know. I also love the idea of using my reaction with the druid to give the rogue or the great weapon master fighter advantage once per turn.
In the end I suppose they are all good options. It's just a matter of flavor mostly. Even magic intiate can be flavored as a piety like upgrade gifted to me by Nylea for my devotion to her.
If the cantrips are not that important, I would suggest taking Fey Touched instead of Magic Initiate to get Bless. You get a once per long rest Misty Step as well in case you get into a sticky situation.

Can’t go wrong with assassin.
