Locathah rising is a 9th level adventure using Locathah for the characters. I've had an idea for the concept of this character for a while. It pairs War Magic with Reaper. A ranged attack round consists of Toll the Dead, potentially hitting two adjacent creatures with Reaper, and then triggering War Magic for a melee attack. The potential for Booming Blade or Green Flame Blade also exists. The build does have one extra attack that can be used for rounds where a Healing Word needs to be cast. Any thoughts or changes that you would consider?
Some that I've thought about was taking dex down to 9+1 (racial) and intelligence down to 10 to bump wisdom up to 18 as well. That might change some of ASI math
Only thing I would add is that Reaper doesn’t need to be a Cleric spell - only a Necromancy spell. So, if you wanted to use Chill Touch using your EK levels and making a Str/Int-focused character instead of Str/Wis-focused, you could. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it, but it’s possible.
Negatives to a Str/Int-focus:
1) Boosting Intelligence is not as ideal as Wisdom as it’s a “secondary” Save while Wisdom is a “primary” Save.
2) Chill Touch is the only other option you get, and because it’s Ranged Spell Attack it will have disadvantage if you are within melee range.
I'd have more options available for sure, but I've already got all of my spell selections not interacting with my intelligence modifier, part of the reason I was thinking of dumping my intelligence to begin with. If I wanted more attack spells, or drop a fighter level for artificer, that would certainly be an option.
I considered [Tooltip Not Found] as a cleric cantrip and chill touch as the reaper cantrip. It was great utility for that build, but this one wants to be mixing ranged attacks with melee attacks. As you mentioned, Chill Touch would have disadvantage in melee where Toll the Dead doesn't. That's also part of the reason that I went with Green Flame Blade, since it has the Reaper effect sort of baked in.
Since Spare the Dying is the only other necromancy cantrip at the moment, it would be hilarious if you had the opportunity to use reaper with it, it'd be hilarious.
I didn't consider the effect on the Wisdom save when I was thinking of boosting Wisdom. That's an extra point in favor of wisdom.

Positives to a Str/Int-focus:
1) Unique and quirky!
2) More of your EK spells will be effective.
