Making a subclass that involves magic how do i make the subclass cast spells? I have set it to where it can cast spells, but how do i check to see if it works?
Sounds good, just remember to make it different from eldritch knight, as that is a fighter subclass with spells. However, using a different spell list may make it work. Or by making them use their magic in a different way.

When you created your homebrew subclass, did you use the Eldritch Knight as a template? If so, it should work.
Anyway, to test if it works, try creating a new character using the subclass. That should be the simplest way.
