I'm playing a half-elf child named Ashe Valentino who is currently a lv3 Arcane Archer. His stats are:
STR: 8 (-1)
DEX: 17 (+3)
CON: 12 (+1)
INT: 17 (+3)
WIS: 16 (+3)
CHA: 14: (+2)
proficiency in athletics, acrobatics, stealth, history, nature, insight, persuasion.
We're playing Hoard of the Dragon Queen, exp and milestone mix.
I rolled pretty good stats but now that I'm approaching my 1st ASI I'm not sure what to do. Should I round out Dex and Int to 18? Should I go for sharpshooter now or wait? Ashe enjoys being the face of the party by personality and loves deceiving and lying, should I take Prodigy or a point in Rogue? I do eventually want proficiency in deception and thieves tools. Any opinions about where to go from here would be appreciated.
I played a High Elf Arcane Archer for Hoard of the Dragon Queen as well. We played with the standard array for stats, so they were not even close to yours, I took Sharpshooter at lvl 4 and got a +1 Lonbow around lvl 5/6. I did not regret it. That being said, bumping DEX and INT both to +4 is huge. +1 to hit/most likely your AC aswell and +1 to your Arrow DC will come in pretty handy. Fighter gets ASI/ Feat at 6 and 8. You will get Sharpshooter soon enough. With stats like this, I would recommend taking Sharpshooter at 6. You get Curving Shot at 7, which helps offsetting the -5 penalty atleast to a certain degree. Imho, your options until lvl 8 outweigh a multiclass. Anyways, it is a great Subclass, have fun in your campaign!
Edit: Checked back and have to correct myself - I indeed did take DEX at 4 ans Sharpshooter at 6!

ASI will help more until 8th level.
