Ok, so level 11 Renegade fighter has 3 attacks per action.
Sniper:
Using double barrel you can take 2 shots.
A. Does this mean I can take 2 shots as 2 attacks and then some other attack action because you can ONLY take 2 shots OR
B. Does this mean I can take 6 total shots because each shot, with double barrel, gives me an extra shot
I am going to assume its A (which still seems very generous while B seems like casting fireball every turn). I like the build and will let my group use it so i want to make sure I have decent understanding.
Keep in mind that you are not using the Attack action with these attacks. You do not get Extra Attack when you use your firearm since that requires you use the Attack action. With that in mind....
Situation A cannot happen. You either use your Attack action or you use your action to make a ranged attack with the firearm. You can't mix and match.
Situation B would only have 2 shots. 1 for your Sniper, and 1 for Double Barrel.
Additionally, as written the firearms are not ranged weapons, which means they won't work with anything that requires a ranged weapon but will work with things that require a ranged weapon attack. It's badly phrased and I hope they update things to fix this.

The text says that you create a weapon - its written a little bit like the Artillerist from Eberron, but with many clarifications and details missing, thats true.
Howdy,

Thank you for looking!
I'm pretty sure it's more like casting a spell. You're not taking the attack action, it just let's you cast "Gun".
Pistoleer gets: two shots at 5th level, three shots at 11th level, and four shots at 20th level.
Sniper gets one shot, unless you upgrade it through class features.
Ok, that makes more sense.
The Pistoleer made more sense to me initially because it specifically stated how many times, which corresponded with the number of attacks.

Ok, so lets say round one i use my action to fire my sniper shot and my double barrel and that ends my action phase
Round 2 i run up and make 3 swings with my scimitar as my 3 attacks .
I agree the wording is bad and also, shouldn't there be something like a flintlock or blunderbuss in inventory for these actions to be able to occur?

#OpenDnD
If we go with the Artillerist, all those attack actions should say "using your created firearm".
