1. Is it worth using this weapon with the Great Weapon fighting style - technically it can be as it is listed as a 2 handed weapon, but it does 2d4 damage meaning you would be able to reroll the damage frequently, but it won't make a huge amount of difference unlike say a 1d12 weapon.
2. From the description of the feats, Greater Weapon Master would work with this but Polearm Master wouldn't. Is it worth taking GWM or is that a waste of a feat?
Fighting style would be interesting. You get to re-roll a lot, but you also have a good chance of the re-roll not doing anything for you. (On a 2 especially, half the time the re-roll won’t be better, just the same or worse) I might go defensive instead to make up for the lack of a shield. The feat would be bad. You’d technically get the extra attack on a crit or if you drop someone, but that uses your bonus action, which you can already attack with, so it won’t do anything for you. And the weapon is not heavy, so you can’t use the -5/+10.
The Great Weapon Fighting style would move the expected damage from the dice from a 5 to a 6. So not much.
Are you planning on picking up the Revenant Blade feat and using the Revenant Double-Bladed Scimitar as a finesse (DEX) weapon? If so, I'd recommend the Archery style so you can have a reliable ranged attack too.
Thanks buddy, that's kinda what I thought. I have been trying to come up with a way of differentiating between my character and another Dex build using 2 weapon rapier / scimitar combo.
Yeah, the character I have made is a Dex based fighter. 18 dex, and using Mage armour, with that I would get an AC of 18, and using Booming Blade for the damage boost and minor battlefield control.
Personally not a fan of two weapon fighting. You can go DEX based with rapier and shield. Studded leather+ high DEX+ shield and you are the lightly armored tank. The str based fighter will wonder why he’s bothering with the heavy armor.
If you do decide to take the great weapon fighting style with a double-bladed scimitar, remember to only reroll 1s, not 2s. When you reroll a 1 on a d4, you have a 25% chance to keep the same damage and a 75% chance to increase your damage. But when you reroll a 2 on a d4, you have a 25% chance to lower your damage, 25% chance to keep the same damage, and 50% chance to increase your damage.

I agree with all of that apart from the first sentence. A 1/4 chance of worse, 1/4 chance of same and 1/2 chance of better should mean that you always reroll on a 2 as 3/4 of the time you got the same or better result... just not on a 3 (for the equal and opposite reason).

Quick question but comes in two parts;
