Question one of my players has performance proficiency the proficiency with a lute from thier background but asked me a (what I thought was a good question). They asked if they use performance to dance and sing why wouldn't he have another bonus to play the lute. His point made that another player is a Smith but doesn't need to skills for it?
I don't know, but maybe playing the lute is deemed to be a technical skill, like, you can put on a great show and all, but if you are playing the wrong notes, then it's still going to be bad
