If I have content sharing turned on for a campaign will those users be able to use the search bar to find things from those books? Or are they only able to access things on their character sheet. I wanted my player to be able to read about downtime.
I'm pretty sure you can read books. I was bewildered as to why the Tasha content was all readable to me before I bought it for myself, until I realized one of my players who has a master sub had bought it and shared it with us.

WOTC lies. We know that WOTC lies. WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. We know that WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. And still they lie.
Because of the above (a paraphrase from Orwell) I no longer post to the forums -- PM me if you need help or anything.
Yes, as long as you are in a campaign with content sharing turned on, you can always read any content owned by anyone else in that campaign. The limitation with sharing is that you can only create characters using the other peoples content if you create them within the campaign.

You basically get the books for free while they're shared, except that you can only use them for characters in that campaign.
