*Lvl8 Ranger/longsword(1d8+5 from STR/Duelist) for reference*
Sorry if this is posted somewhere but I can not find the answer. My question is if I pop Hunters Mark on a creature do I get the plus d6 on my Extra attack and any attack I get from abilities/bonuses? Do I also get the plus d6 (HM) or Horde Breaker if I use the Charge action? I am trying to map out highest damage potential for a ranger build and deciding between Charge and Mobile. This break down is implying I get HM on ALL attacks with my weapon, bonus attacks included. These number and my choice change if I do not get HM on all attacks. Here is my break down;
"Until the spell ends, you deal an extra 1d6 damage to the target whenever you hit it with a weapon attack."
So yes, you get it on any attack you get regardless of what mechanic or ability you get it from, as long as it's a weapon attack (spell attacks don't count).

Plenty of players have done lots of math involving Hunter's Mark, some to prove rangers aren't weak in the damage department, some to see if HM is an indispensable spell or not, some to rank the classes, some for even other reasons. Regardless of all of their individual findings, it's pretty clear the spell is not overpowered.
Also, since you're looking at Zephyr's Strike as well: that and HM are both Concentration spells. Can't have them both up at once. And Horde Breaker requires attacking a different creature than the original target, and Hunter's Mark affects only a single target.
Oh didnt notice them both being concentration spells. Also you are right forget it targets one creature. So I guess it is a lot less damage then i thought. Thank you for the info! Needed that. My last question is do you get horde breaker off a Charge attack? Charge allows you to dash at someone as you "action" but get a bonus attack with +5 damage, i do not know if that activates horde breaker.
Horde Breaker: "Once on each of your turns when you make a weapon attack,..." Charger: "When you use your action to Dash, you can use a bonus action to make one melee weapon attack or to shove a creature"
So, yes. If you use your bonus action to attack with Charger, this can trigger Horde Breaker.

Hunter's Mark being concentration is really what keeps it in line.
