I just wanted to share my group's story of a Rime of the Frost Maiden quest. I'm DM'ing for a group at my library where I work. There are usually about 8 players but we have a couple that come in and out. They were doing Toil and Trouble the quest of the missing fishermen. Inside the cavern is a Frost Giant Skeleton and a sea hag cooking the fisherfolk in a magic stew pot. The players were rebuffed by the giant and had to regroup. When they did, they came up with an idea to trip the giant over and off the frozen waterfall then pelt him with spells, ranged attacks, etc. That went well. Because some time had passed since their first encounter I improvised a bit and said they found the old lady sleeping just north of the cauldron of plenty. I thought they were going to attempt to murder her in her sleep. They surprised me. One of our monks grappled her and proceeded to carry her to the cook pot and dunk her in. They put the lid on and held her under for long enough to drown her/boil her alive. They then went back to town, carrying the cauldron of course. When they arrived the rogue presented Captain Argallath (spelling) with a waterskin of fisherman stew. The speaker offered them the 2500GP of gemstones for the cauldron which they promptly rejected and drew up a rental contract with first right of refusal if Easthaven doesn't share the pot with the remainder of Ten Towns on a rotating schedule. It was a pretty wild session. Thought I'd share.
