Are the Player’s View files protected? I’m trying to save the images from my HSoT module to my desktop in order to more easily/tactfully display them with a projector for my players. I can save the low res PNG file types; i.e. DM View Map and every other reference photo easily, but when I try to save the hi res JPG Player’s View Map, I cannot open it on a windows machine.
Error: “file location\hsotplayer.jpg - Paint cannot read this file. This is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not currently supported.”
So, where I can normal preview JPG files in Windows via Paint, as pedestrian as that is, this file seems corrupted/protected. Is this an intended anti-piracy measure for the Player’s View Map files specifically?
I can open the image on gimp. But you are right I get the same error on paint. I assume this is due to the image size. It is too big for paint to handle or on paint it requires more ram than I have.
I spent so much time checking these and other forums to make sure no one has asked this question before that I forgot it could be a software/RAM problem. If that's the case, a possible workaround could be to upload it on Google Drive and use Pixlr to resize and save it back to my PC. Thanks for the inspiration.
