I presume you mean create a homebrew mundane item for the site? As far as I'm aware, the answer is no, though we have had some games who've made up a faux-magic item and treat it as non-magical.
The new character sheet allows you to add custom items straight to a sheet, however the weight functionality seems to be broken. When I change the weight and cost of the item, only the cost updates. I don't think there's a way to add something as a homebrew item, but you can definitely add it to your character or one of your players' characters.
As per posts above, if all you want is for your character to have a katana (as an example), select a longsword and use the customize option to change the name. :)
will you please consider changing this? having to use outside resources or to jerry-rig the magical items sort of defeats the purpose of D&D Beyond's products.

Would it be possible to create a weapon or at least reskin one that isn't magical?

We don't currently allow homebrew mundane items.
