I have at least one good/unique idea for every class except for druid. Idk why, but it just seems like it's a bit boring compared to every other class. Normally when I wanna play a nature related character that is a primary caster, I just do a Nature cleric. Any good or unique ideas.
I think you're underestimating the scope of "nature-related." Druids cure plagues; they do science research; go exploring; they prevent the spread of invasive species (like mind flayers); they chart the planets and stars; they maintain the fragile peace between the tempestuous elemental realms which permits the Prime, and all mortal life, to exist. Druids are awesome.
Yeah, I see your point. I guess the nature druid is just a stereotype. I did actually have an idea for a plague docter druid but I never went into detail or tried to figure much out about it
You're also not alone. For a while there, surveys showed that druids were the bottom of the popularity list for lots of people. Granted, these were years ago now, but its definitely showcasing an issue with the class. Or, rather, how the class is perceived.
There's a lot you can do, but lots of people get hung up on the shapeshifting and the geomancy that they really don't see past them.
As for ideas? I like the idea of a cooking-based druid. Everything is food or herbalism. Meanwhile, the two new druid subclasses from Tasha's look pretty nifty - wildfire druid just sounds fun, while the star druid? Looks badass. I've considered a mechanus-based druid a time or two before. Machine Druidism. Think about it.
I'm with you in finding the druid class itself fairly unappealing.. Somehow it feels more restrictive and predefined than other classes.. Some cool druidic themes could be a witch or hmm.. Okay, weird idea.. imagine a dwarven miner who's so gotten so in tune with the earth he's learned to commune with it.. So an expert digger druid of sorts.
I had a Druid idea where they are a Jane Goodall type scientist, living in the forest among all the creatures to learn about them. They spend so much time studying the animals that they start to be able to become them.
