If say before an encounter, you use contingency a healing word or whatever good healing spell you have, and the condition is : when I get below 15 HP, can you just go back up to full health? Or is there some restriction against healing? Idk, it’s not that good of a thing to do, but still, I bet it can be used in a more interesting fashion then just healing, but it stipulates the effect can only affect the caster, so healing is the best I could come up with and I’m too lazy to go find something interesting, it must also be a spell of lvl 5 and under if contingency is cast as a lvl 6 spell.
DISPEL MAGIC PART
3rd level spell, PHB p234
If a wizard casts dispel magic on a magical object ( say a magic rug ), what happens, does it become a rug? Does it regain magic over time? Is Aladin now bound to the ground forever???
GIANT INSECTS PART
4th level spell, PHB p245
It gives me a few specific exemples of what insects I can transform, but can I use cockroaches? Do I base the amount on their CR? On that same note, it says TEN CENTIPEDES, do they act as a hoard?
I know these rules would usually be determined by the DM in specific gameplay circumstances, but I just want a general idea of what is what, also, I’m relatively new to 5E, so some of these questions might seem obvious to more experienced players, sorry.
Contingency is a wizard-only spell. Wizards don't get access to any healing spells, except for Vampiric Touch, which doesn't really work, and Enervation which is also very iffy. You'd have to be a multiclassed character to do it, and then you're still limited to a single spell, cast at up to 5th level. There are no spells at those levels that just bring you back up to full. Even heal, which gives you 70 HP, is out of the picture as a 6th level spell. Cure Wounds at 5th level would net you 5d8+MOD and is probably your best bet -- you'd gain access to it with a 1-level dip into Artificer, which lets you keep INT as your spellcasting mod. Your only other option looks to be Mass Cure Wounds which requires 9 levels of your other class, and so you'd only get to use this with Contingency at level 20.
For the other two, yeah, that's up to negotiating with the DM. I'd say 'maybe, but probably not,' and 'definitely yes as reflavoring,' as there's no official stat block for roaches.
